Lyrics and Lunch “If you know how to freestyle you will never have writer’s block”- Will.I.Am. It is clear, at least to me, to see none of my guests have the unbearable weight of writers block. However, if you can not relate with this knowledge I’m sure today’s lunch and lyrics will shed some light on the true lyrical power of my group of invitees. Today’s lyrics and lunch will take place at none other than Death Row Records, where the likes of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and many others have recorded the tracks that have withstanded the test of time and shined as some of the greatest songs to be made. The menu includes favorites such as the chicken packed Alfredo, A fresh cheeseburger on steaming hot buns paired with freshly fried French fries, …show more content…
Firstly, there are countless reasons past simple fandom that explain my invitation to Mr. Shakur. For example, Tupac Shakur is fundamentally one of the greatest rappers to live. Not only that, but he is one of my biggest idols and most inspiring people. He gave to me as a young child such a feeling of relief and escape and I am dumbfounded on how he was able to achieve such depths. Thus, my decision to give him an invitation was one of great ease and glee. Secondly, there are so many things I would love to sit down and talk to Tupac about. For instance, songs like “Dear MaMa” show such deep seeded and well visible emotions. I would love to be bestowed with the knowledge of what his inspiration for these deeply meaningful songs was, and how he was then able to configure these words with such poetic flow, and heartfelt overtones. As you can see, our conversation would be one of depth and emotion. Thirdly, Tupac is a sucker for some good Italian food. Case in point, Tupac decided to order the Chicken Alfredo. It was clear by the expression on his face that the piping hot plate of perfectly seasoned chicken paired with the delicious sauce, and mouthwatering noodles was very attractive to him. Accordingly, he was thoroughly pleased by the Italian magnificence. For all these reasons, Tupac Shakur was one of my favorite guests of this instalment of …show more content…
Firstly, as one of America’s most infamous bad boys why would I not invite Eazy-E? For example, Eazy-E alongside N.W.A, Eazy-E’s famous rap group, basically defined the genre of gangster rap. On top of that he became the first rapper I had ever seen become the C.E.O of his own wildly successful record label. Consequently, I placed a Compton California address on the invitation and mailed it out to the bad boy of California. Secondly, being such a controversial artist who died at such a young age, there are many things that were left unsaid and many questions unanswered. Specifically, one question has nagged at my conscience for as long as I can remember. The question of if Eazy-E could go back in time, would he change the outcome of N.W.A. I would also want to know what it was like being the C.E.O of his own record label, built from the ground up. Therefore, I would hope to receive the answers and close the open doors that Eazy left at his passing. Thirdly, being the bad boy he was, Eazy had no interest in the menu. Case in point, he did not even choose his meal, simply telling the waiter “give me whatever man.” However, he was delighted to receive a meal which he much enjoyed. The waiter brought out a steaming hot plate, a freshly baked piece of chicken centered on it drenched with the vibrant red marinara sauce. While he tried to
The book I chose to read is Tupac Shakur:The Life & Times of an American Icon. This book hasn’t been out for very long. It’s publication date was January 26, 2010 so it is a somewhat newer book. Fred and Tayannah examined very closely and did a great deal of research to write this book. They had to examine all the theories and myths about Tupac Shakur. So i’m guessing you can imagine how hard they worked to write & publish this biography.
Modernism has been overwhelmed with works empathizing helplessness and depression. While modern poets often tell the truth about life's difficulties, the product of this often results in discouraging millennial interest in the art. In contrast to the helpless of other poets, Tupac Shakur exhibits defiant resolutions in his poems. Shakur's diction exhibits a necessary component when discussing historical and sociological aspects: he shows his audience how to overcome adversity.
Tupac Shakur was a very talented man. His poem “ I Cry” has a deepful meaning to it. He was born Sept 13, 1996. He grew up in New York City. In his poem he is telling how he is alone with no one to listen to him & his pain he is dealing with. He has no “ ear to confide in”.
The theme of 123rd Street rap is one that can't be compared to any other poem. The reason for this is that it has such a deep reality to it and it is only a poem. One good reason to love this poem is it show someone to appreciate the life that one has and to not take what you have for granted. The line “Automatic bullets bounce off stoop steps”(Perdomo 2) should make anyone who doesn't live this everyday reality appreciate the life that they live. The poet saw the life that people have to live and put it into words and makes you understand in just a few lines.
Everyone knows a guy by the name of Tupac Shakur, but how do people know Mr. Shakur? Maybe it is by the hardcore gangster and obscene rap lyrics directed towards people, more so aimed towards his east coast rivals. As years went on, more and more people viewed a handful of Tupac’s music as a true work of art, containing strong messages along with stories from his troubled childhood and young adulthood. Later on in both Tupac’s life and career, he began to realize the demise of the African American culture as a whole. During his last stint in prison, not only did he realized all of this wrongdoing throughout this life, but also the negative influence rap and hip hop had over the young African American community. What happened during his incarnation,
Eazy E was a west coast rapper. He was the Co-founder who was part of the group N.W.A. known for albums like Straight Outta Compton. Eazy E was born on September 7, 1963 in Compton, California. His original name was Eric Lynn Wright. He started a group named N.W.A. with his other rappers Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. They were known for their violent lyrics. They made A album called Straight Outta Compton. At that time Eazy was a solo artist.
Tupac Shakur released the song “Keep Ya Head Up” first in 1993 on his album “Strictly for my N.I.G.G.A.Z.”, then as a single in 1994. Tupac’s “Keep Ya Head Up”, one of his most notable and recognizable singles, received acclaim upon its release and continues to do so. The record centers on the social climate in the 90’s, and Tupac’s own experiences from his youth. Around the time of the song’s release, Tupac’s indictment in a rape case colored the reception of the song although it remained mainly positive. Tupac speaks on multiple issues through his lyrics, making it effective as a critique of society; moreover, the other creative devices he uses – phrasing, rhythm changes, and samples – make the song effective as an artistic project and back up his social message.
No one really knows how Tupac Shakur died that terrible night or why but we do know we lost a great music artist that day. Was his death caused by gang violence, conflict with another rapper, or some of his closest friends? This is the reason i’m writing this essay, to tell you the truth of Tupac Shakurs death.
Tupac Shakur was a very famous rapper he is well known for being very lyrical. He was a violent person but he had very good wisdom. His rhymes were the best of his time and still the best now. He had a very hard childhood his mother spent most of the times in jail during pregnancy. So when he was born she was just getting out of prison. So it was tough for her to get back on her feet. She ended up raising him and she did it well, Tupac is infamous for telling everyone that his mom was number one and no one should disrespect their moms. His first album dropped when he was in prison.
When most people hear the name Tupac, they think of a tattooed thug, a gangsta rapper killed in a tragic shooting who only got what was coming to him, a man who lived by the gun, and who died by the gun. However, those people probably have never taken a chance to look beyond what their eyes tell them, past the ignorance and into the depths of the man who really was Tupac.
Tupac Amaru Shakur, a gangster rapper and actor who was very successful, was shot several times on September 9, 1996. He died nearly a week later on September 15, 1996 after being in a coma for days. Shakur was like most rappers in the early to mid 90’s. He partied, drank, smoked, and was in and out of jail. A large portion of his career was spent in a “battle” between the east coast (New York) and the west coast (California). Many believe this is a cause for his assassination, but this has yet to be proven. Tupac Shakur’s death was untimely due to his asset to the music industry and his flourishing career, but many believe that his death was timely due to his feud with an old friend, Christopher Wallace.
Shakur’s poem “In the Depths of Solitude,” outlines not only many of the internal struggles that Shakur was dealing with, but the struggles that a lot of young, black men were dealing with during that particular time period. This poem is written as a dedication to himself and the only audience is him. In the poem, the speaker, Tupac himself, is, “Trying 2 find peace of mind” (3). During this time period, Tupac is forced to face all the struggles that come along with being a well-known rapper and idol, admired and observed by so many. Like many young people, Shakur is not completely secure within himself and with so many others depending on him to be a certain way, it makes sense for him to define himself in relation to those around him. He is craving to be accepted and valued. “CONSTANTLY yearning to 2 be accepted/ and from all receive respect,” (5,6). However, earning these peoples’ respect can be too much when one bases his/her happiness on it. “I
The average rapper wouldn’t be able to grace the pages of Rap Pages, VIBE, Spin, The Source, URB and Stress and go on a national tour months before their major label debut album is released. Then again Eminem isn’t the average rapper.
In 1993 Tupac formed a group with his stepbrother Mopreme Shakur, Big Syke and Rated R. The group made an album called Thug Life: Volume 1. On the album they had a song called Pour out a Little Liquor which was produced by Johnny Jackson who produced Tupac’s famous song All Eyez on Me. His third album was Me Against the World which had the song Dear Mama. It was the most successful single and became platinum.
