“Even when I doubt you, I’m no good without you.” Without the band, Twenty One Pilots, I’d be in a much darker, quieter place that I am today. Twenty One Pilots is a two-man band that originated from Ohio, and has been slowly gaining more and more followers especially as of late. They also happen to be one of my all-time favorite bands. Their music consists of such depth, it is some of the greatest poetry I’ve ever heard, and it’s so relatable because they have dealt with and experienced everything that they discuss in their songs. The topics included in their music are issues such as anxiety, depression, and loneliness, but also the gradual journey toward recovery and reaching happiness- even if those negative things still exist inside. …show more content…

Along with the fact that they include very relatable topics in their music, I relate to them mainly because of the already stated fact that they never set certain interpretations for it. They have made it clear that they want every individual person who listens to them to have their own personal experiences, and not to have the same experiences as anyone else. Even at their concerts and public events, they say to the audience “We are Twenty One Pilots, and so are you.” I really love that they do this because it’s like their way of saying that the listeners and fans are as much of a part of the band as they are, which just adds to the point I made of how relatable they try to be, and how much they succeed at it. Another example of Twenty One Pilots being relatable is that they haven’t allowed their newfound fame to boost their egos. Thanks to the Internet, I’m able to watch interviews that they have, as well as see any videos or posts they put up on social media. From seeing the video blogs- otherwise known as ‘vlogs’- that they post as a way for fans to get a peek into their daily lives, I see how they are normal people, and even though they go on tours and events because they’re in the ‘business,’ they don’t see themselves as superior to people. They’re also kind and funny people, and have a recurring ‘thing’ of jokingly telling each other that they’re out of the band- it’s never serious though.
