Learning Unit Three Analysis Unit three is comprised of chapters ten through fifteen. Within those six chapters there are actually two different sections. Chapters ten and eleven make up the first section about the state. Chapters twelve, thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen create the second section about self and society. The one thing these two sections have in common is they both have to do with people and society. Section three is about the state; how art pertains to the government and war and how art can be used to protest the government. The title of chapter ten is Power, Politics, and Glory. This chapters shows us how governments, especially historical governments, use art to show off and in some cases for practical use too. One example …show more content…
The first chapter in this section is chapter twelve Mind and Body. This chapter focuses on humans as individuals and how artist interpret people and feelings. A good example of this is Vincent Van Gogh’s Portrait of Dr. Gachet. Van Gogh’s style of painting makes the viewer really experience the feelings of Dr. Gachet. Chapter thirteen is about Race, Gender, Clan, and Class. This is an important topic because everyone is born with each of those and it will affect them for their whole lives. An example that sums up this chapter is Marc Chagall’s Over Vitebsk. Chagall was exiled from Russia for being Jewish and this painting is a fictional view of his childhood neighborhood in Russia. Chapter fourteen is about Nature, Knowledge, and Technology. This chapter is important because those three thing are always surrounding us. An example of art from the chapter is Andreas Vesalius of Brussels The Forth Plate of Muscles. This artwork pertains to the chapter because this piece of art came from an old anatomy book so it shows how art and knowledge intersect. The last chapter is fifteen, this chapter is about Entertainment and Visual Culture. These are also topics that are always around us in today’s society. An example from the book is a scene from Julie Taymor’s The Lion King. This is a well-known movie that was reimagined as a play which give the audience a new

An artist's job is to interpret, and express the aspects of life in a creative fashion. War has played a big part in shaping our human history, and many artists have portrayed their feelings about art through paintings, and even monuments. Whether it be to show; the joy of victory, the sorrow of defeat, or to educate the public on the gory realities of war. Art about war can also show us a great amount of history of the kinds of weapons that were used at the time. It is necessary for artists to interpret, and criticize all aspects of life; even ones as tragic as war, It can make the public more aware of what goes on in times of war.
significant because it shows that the book is trying to draw a picture in the reader's mind about

The petitioner raises multiple issues regarding the IRS' final rule and interpretation of the provision regarding tax credits for taxpayers payers signed up in "an exchange established by the state." The IRS' final rule stated that the provision pertained to both state and federal exchanges. Petitioner argues that the phrase "established by the state," refers to just the states that have their own exchanges, and not the federal exchange. Therefore, the petitioners would not be eligible for the tax credits, and would not be required to maintain insurance coverage since the cost would exceed eight percent of their income.
Throughout the semester, we have learned a lot of different topics. The topic that I think relates to unit 6 is unit 4. Unit 6 is about Bodily Integrity and unit 4 is about Intersectionality. I know that they really do not relate to each other but I think a few readings are somewhat related. I think they are related because they both talk about women's rights and how they are different from men's.
I obtain a score of 15 out of 30. So it seems I am half way there to managing my time successfully. I thought my score would be much higher. After reviewing and checking my responses I found that most of the check marks that were yes was because I know how important it is to create lists, to-do lists, and calendar reminders. I have found that part of managing my time very important. It helps prevent me from missing assignments or important dates. I also make daily lists and weekly lists which help to manage my time. The checked marks for the questions with a no are definitely something that I do not have a hang on. Most of those questions related to distractions and
Art by its nature is a subject of the philosophical, social, economic, political or religious context surrounding its creator. More often than not, a work of art addresses a specific topic or somewhat revolves around a particular person. Therefore, it is impossible to separate the context of a piece of painting, either historical or cultural, to its intrinsic value or the artwork's meaning. On the other hand, different cultures and time utilized specific conventions that govern the representation of objects of creativity. This essay highlights various pieces of art and their relationship to particular cultural, political, economic, or social settings. Moreover, it pinpoints how different times influence art presentation.
To begin addressing this assignment first I must define what art is throughout the weeks I have been enrolled in “Art and Architecture of Latin America.” To me what I have come to interpret is that art doesn’t necessarily have to involve paper, pencil or paint. Art is something that receives public reaction or that it can relate to someone. For example, take the drawings of Diego Rivera. One of his most famous works named “History of Mexico from the Conquest to the Future” can be found in Fresco, National Palace, Mexico City relates to his people's lives. Why you may ask? Well if you look closely to his drawings it shows the history of Mexico since the conquest of the Spaniards to the revolutions that emerged throughout Spaniard rule up until

The exhibit contained upwards of 20 photographs and at least 60 paintings. One of the most agreeable things about the works of art that I witnessed is that collectively, they assisted in recounting the sentiment that gripped the country during the war that threatened to sunder it. One could almost feel the initial enthusiasm as the war broke out, that was swiftly prolonged by numerous clashes over a period of years. There were works that alluded to an impending war, ones that depicted that war, and numerous ones that hinted at a hoped for ending in which the mightiness of the country would someday be restored.
There are three themes that are used throughout the reading which are; love, beauty, and death. The most important theme in this story would be beauty. When the husband gets so attached to his art work he forgets about the beautiful wife he has of his own and only thinks about the beauty of this portrait. Love is also showed in this story but by the wife. The wife is so in love with her husband she is willing to do anything and everything to make her husband happy. Which is not getting in the away of him painting his picture. The last theme would be death even though this is a major theme it comes last. After the husband not realizing the actual beauty and love the
