Now then, how did this urban legend come about? It started as an ordinary rumor- one player holding 300 game rankings with an perfect undefeatable record including the fact he had beaten every cheats and grandmaster. The news spread like wild fire, and some had even suspected this genius gamer to actually be a hacker. Whatever the case is, this person had allowed this rumor to spread, for he had an account and ignored this, thus provided little to no information. Crowned the king of world rankings, countless of people had tried to identify this mysterious player. Nonetheless, the correct answers are usually the most boring ones... "Ahh... It's finally over... 8A.M, middle of the night..." 18 years old. A NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). Terrible skill in communication. Game freak. A person who wore a simple white T-shirt and blue jeans that gives off a feeling of a shut-in with unkempt black hair. This is the correct answer. This also means that he had done five all nighters in total. Suddenly, a sharp tone echoed in his dark room as the male turned his head ever so slightly to glance down at the shining tablet from his seat. "From a friend...?" A dull feeling seemed to stab his chest by just thinking about how ironic his response was to the notification. It wasn't that messages for him were rare- he had received multiple invitations, war requests, and challenges from many other players. His hollow eyes accompanied with his dark eye bags stared blankly at the message before

A common story told around Halloween is the tale of the Headless Horseman. Within the past century, both Disney and Hollywood have given their views on the classic tale. Disney holds most of the original concept of Irving 's tale than the Tim Burton’s movie. However, the changes in the bridge scene, the concept of the characters, and the horseman takes valuable meaning away from Irving 's timeless classic “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”
Valentina padded quietly down the short hallway and let out a long, slow breath before she stepped around the corner, and then back into the kitchen. She found Cole stirring his mashed potatoes and her meal in the microwave, where she walked over to watch the black container spin. It crossed her mind to thank him for starting her food for her, but he spoke up and cut her off before the thought could cross her lips. He wanted to know about the tapes. Of course, she knew the conversation was going to happen, but she was rather hoping she’d get to sleep first.
I never thought that one stranger’s mistake would change the way that I would think before I act. It was two years ago when I witnessed an unlicensed man accidentally run over his mother’s leg in an attempt to help her into their vehicle. It was after leaving the shopping mall when I was sitting in my aunt’s car that this occurrence befell. I noticed that there was not sufficient room for this woman to get into her vehicle. Her son then decided to enter through the driver’s seat and back up just enough for his mom to fit into the car. This did not go as intended. Not knowing how to drive, this man in his late twenties or early thirties unintentionally ran over his mother’s leg. It tossed her down onto the pavement, leaving her incapable to

The leading rape myth used to be about what a woman was wearing. The twisted logic goes like this: Women who wear provocative clothing are sluts who are “asking for it.” But the feminist movement has seriously chipped away at this rape myth. Thousands of women in Muslim countries who wear the burqa, hijab, and dress modestly are raped and sexually assaulted. In India according to the National Crime Registry, a woman is raped every twenty minutes. Egypt’s Interior Ministry reports that 20,000 women and girls are raped every year. Engy Ghozlan of the Egyptian Center for Women’s Rights anti-harassment campaign said, “If the Ministry of the Interior gets 20,000 then you should multiply it by ten .” The United Nations Population Fund in Afghanistan

Urban Legends, conspiracy theories, and ghost stories stem from the fears of society. The fictional, yet fact-based stories should be taught in the K-12 curriculum. It is better to learn about the fear society holds and see what comforts their minds, rather than refuting the impossible. Though based on “pseudoscience”, it is important to show students to think for themselves. It’s the student's jobs to choose what beliefs to live by.
It was May 9, 1934. I was doing my usual Sunday papers. I was throwing them every which way, left, right, making sure I got everybody. Yeah, I’m the paper boy.
The other day I heard an intriguing story, one that I 've heard of vaguely before, yet paid little attention to. However, in recent times, I 've been hearing this same story more often, and ones similar to it, and because of this I had to do some investigating of my own. You see, a certain large computer company which shall remain anonymous, along with many other large companies, have rerecorded their automated voice systems in an intriguing way: "Press '1 ' for Spanish; Press '2 ' for English." More so than any other time, Spanish has been creeping into America. Yes, Spanish has always been present, and I do not have a problem with that. My great-grandfather immigrated to America from Mexico. He had to learn English. When he tried to get a job, he was told learn English and not to come back till he did. That is the way it was for a long time. However, in the last few years, there almost seems to be a "they-have-a-right-to-speak-Spanish-we-just-have-to-accomdate-them" attitude going on. Que? In America, we speak English. No matter where you stand on this issue, you cannot argue with that. We speak English! If you want to become a US citizen, you must learn to speak English. It is a requirement. If a person comes here from Japan, they will have to learn English. Look around, no one is offering Japanese language options and accepting Yen for pizzas. So why is it that we work so hard to accommodate the Spanish language? In California, there are now entire sections that
