Victims of Violence Practice Writings Victims of Violence discusses what society wants to see published and what they do not want to see. America is a country that is into more gruesome images (Lesser). Lesser does not pick either side, and I can see why. Lesser also stated that people would rather see a horrific picture in the evening opposed to the morning, due to not wanting to see the image while eating breakfast. I agree with both sides, showing ghastly pictures and not showing them. People understand so much more with a picture. We are like children. With the picture, we can actually visualize ourselves in the moment, no matter how horrible the scene is. Showing pictures in color is more lifelike as well (Lesser 463). Black and white
Although homicides represent a high-income number of overall crimes, they are often focused on by the media. Why do you think this is the case? What consequences do you think that this has? The news will always cover the most important and pressing events and also the events that will give them the most amount of viewers, so this points directly to covering the most intense crimes. I think only showing gruesome crimes gives America a bad rap

In reading this book what stood out to me the most was how easy it can be to become a victim of violence. We would all like to think that this will never happen to us or that we would never allow for it to happen, but the reality is, it happens in so many forms and can be at the hands of the people we trust the most. This is where I realized one of the most common excuse for the abuse comes from manipulation.
Brutality incidents for whites have had a shorter-term effect than that of a black person. By reviewing answers of both populations it’s evident that because the white community is not the one being constantly abused they tend to have a one-sided care. Their one-sided care is formed by the simple fact that police are taking advantage of their authority yet they don’t fully pay mind to how the mind’s of black people are being molded into fear.

From a theoretical perspective the explanation of violence against women has been underreported for years. The idea of violence against women had become a major societal issue. Each domestic abuse relationship is unique, and has a pattern that holds certain signs, clues, and characteristics that could have helped decide if one were in an unhealthy or abusive relationship. There are significant indicators that are common to all virtual cases of domestic abuse, mainly because people have heard much about domestic abuse, but did not think it applied to their situation. What is domestic abuse, how is it defined for someone to recognize and seek help; coming from someone that has a
Violence has become an enormous issue all around the world, but in the United Sates alone it has been estimated that nearly ten million people are abused in a time frame of only one year. The media has reported increasing cases of domestic violence and aggression perpetrated by veterans of war. These disturbing results make research into the cause of the problem necessary and urgent. In many cases, veterans have difficulties in maintaining intimate relationship and their partners are confronted by violence, aggression and animosity. In extreme cases, former service personnel have murdered or seriously injured their partners. The lifestyle theory focuses on crime victims rather than perpetrators. This theory suggests that the crime victims become a victim due to their own decisions or lifestyle choices that they make. An example of this theory would be going out night alone or living n area that is bad. Not all people have the same type of lifestyle but some lifestyles create problems that cause people to become victims.
The history of Intimate Partner Violence is a long one much longer than many are aware of. It used to be an accepted part of many cultures that as the head of the household the many could use whatever means necessary to keep his family in line.
