The University of Evansville, my home for the next four years. I believe this university is the perfect home for me to continue my academic career. There are so many great qualities about this school. The first quality that drew me in, is how hands on the teachers and administrators are with their students. I feel the staff will be able to give me the push I need to follow my dreams of becoming a nurse or occupational therapist. Helping children has always been a dream of mine, and Evansville can make this dream become a reality. I have already met with several administrators that have helped me narrow my choices down to two careers, that allow me to work with and help children. I know that with the help of the professors and students I can
With all the jobs out there in the world, how does anyone decide what they want to do with their lives? Most of the time this is the first question young people ask themselves when they are trying to figure out what they want to major in at college. This question caused me a lot of confusion about my possible future career. The career I finally choose, like many other young adults, was law enforcement, to be a police officer. In the following paragraphs, I will describe the reasons for my choice, along with the effects that my education and training have on my goal of becoming a police officer.
Throughout my high school career I focused on law. Law was not my passion but with a family full of lawyers it is what I
I have attended my current school, City Honors in Buffalo, NY, since the 7th grade. While I cherish the education and experiences I gained during my six years there, my graduating class is very small and I feel ready to move forward, grow and utilize new opportunities. When I started my college search, I knew I wanted to attend a large, diverse university with strong academics and an energetic and enthusiastic setting.
Upon graduating from North Pike High School in the year 2022, I plan to attend Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama to persuade a career as a computer information research scientist. I plan to continue my educational tenure and acquire my PH.D as a computer engineer.
However, I am deeply considering majoring in history. I am looking into careers connected with this major, other than education. Several of my history teachers helped to strengthen my interest in history; therefore, I am also considering history education. Other interests of mine that could affect my choice are theatre and perhaps English. I will work hard to earn my degree and work in a career I am passionate about. As for college, I hope to attend IPFW. The campus appeared to be very pleasant and I believe that attending IPFW will be a great experience. I am also applying to Huntington University and have already applied to Ball State. I plan to stay close enough to home that I can commute to campus every day. My parents are extremely important to me and I want to be able to be there for them as they were—and continue to be—there for me. They are such a great support system and I would not have gotten where I am today without their encouragement and love.
When I chose my major, criminal justice, I did pick it because I had been involved with a police explorer program and participated in a criminal justice internship in high school. I did some research and found that by achieving a

My career I have chosen is a juvenile probation officer. A JPO or juvenile probation officer looks after youth who have been found guilty or convicted of a crime or been placed under protective supervision. JPO’s work very close to schools, law enforcement, and families. They also must make sure their clients are in compliance with the legal system. This field interest me because I love the legal system. Also, I love being able to help young people better themselves so that society can see the good in them. There are kids who turn to violence because that is all they know. I feel as though I could be the one to make them change for the better.
The career I chose was a Canine Police Officer. I chose to be a Canine Police Officer because I could help the community be a better and safer place. After some Canine Police Officers conducted a demonstration at a camp that I attended, I thought it would be a great job to have. They showed us some of the commands. The Canine Police Officers also showed how the dog would attack and hold onto the suspect. The Canine Police Officers also said that some of the commands are in a different language. Depending on where the dog was trained, that is the language that most of the commands are in. It would also be a great job for me because I love dogs.
Well to start off by saying that it was something that I thought long and hard about, it just happened. When I started working in the Shelby County Jail in 2001, I had no idea of what I was about to face. Obviously, I did not need a degree to work there just clerical experience and a great personality. About four years later one of my co-workers convinced me to return to school and I did. I could not think of anything else to take up in school so I went with what I am already experiencing at the time, Criminal Justice. Well, after a year and a half or so of many sleepless nights, juggling two small kids, being a single parent, much hard work and dedication on the job and in school, I received my
When I was in middle school I decided that I wanted to be a pathologist. I was fascinated with the human body and would always watch shows on TLC that pertained to the human body such as the operation. I loved to read murder mystery books and any type of books that had a pathologist or city coroner in them. As I got into high school I started to research college criminal justice programs that had a body farm. The more research I did, I realized that majoring in criminal justice would be the easy part.
