Leadership and Vision In this constantly changing nursing world, a leadership vision is important when leading and inspiring the team. The patient must first feel that they can trust the physicians and nurses to provide them with optimum care, and act in their best interest; so, they can reach a better out come when providing patient-centered care. It is important for patients to be involved in the care that they receive. Through education and practice patients will be able to make an informed decision about their health care. The overall opinion of the article is that it was well written. The last article title was Patient- Centered care is associated with decrease health care utilization, the purpose of the article was apparent and it provided detail information. Information that was overemphasized was the cost of patients directing their care. The author was not objective in the discussion topics only the specific was discussed. The author cited pertinent literature. This article supports my vision because according to the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine (JABFM) article stated that “Patient- centered care was associated with decrease health care services and lower annual charges” (2010). This article provided too much information it could have been scaled back a little.
Conclusion
Having a leadership vision is important when you want to provide quality nursing to all. The journals that was review they all had informative information and supported my vision by allowing the patient to direct their care so that they can have a better outcome. In turn this will decrease hospital stay, let the patient feel that they are in charge of their care. The patient s will also feel as though they are a part of
