“Like father, like son; like mother, like daughter,” right? Well in this case it’s surprisingly not. In the 1937 novel Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, Janie Crawford, raised by her grandmother, does not follow the family cycle of getting violently raped by a white man and having a child at a young age. Family cycles are scientifically proven, stating that patterns in previous generations will most likely continue in the following generation, unless somehow prevented. Nanny, who dearly cares for Janie, is beyond protective, only because she fears for her granddaughter’s safety.

Humans can survive up to three weeks without food but only a matter of three days without water and the adverse effects of dehydration can be noticed within hours. Having moved from a house located in the city limits of Greensboro, NC at the age of three, Whitsett is practically all I have ever known as “home.” My parents decided to move to Whitsett because they were able to find a larger and more suitable house with the arrival of my younger brother, Landon, in the year 1999. With almost 19 years having gone by, my family still lives in the same house today. Our house is located in the neighborhood development known as “Stoney Creek.” Importantly, this is the

Unit 10 was a closure for the previous four units in the process of inventing Canada. This unit based on the earliest resources on Canadian history and on the first nations whom lived in this country. This resources were about pre-Cartier and his explorations.
