Is it Worth it to Dream? “It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” That’s what J.K Rowling believes. And through the dream unit I have come to see that she was right. Why base life around a silly dream that some people have no chance of achieving. While dreaming gives people a reason to live, It is not worth it to dream because, dreams lead to false hopes, dreams can get dreamers hurt, and it is a big waste of time. I believe it is not worth it to dream because usually it doesn’t happen anyway. In the book We Beat the Streets. Rameck, Sampson and George followed their dreams, but their friends did not. They got swallowed up by the tough streets, they had dreams too, but did they ever come true? The answer is NO. We can also see this in this particular video, Mere Doyle tried her best to sing on a show called The Voice and people always told her she was good, but when the judges heard her they said she was just awful. She worked really hard and they just turned her away. Look at people who died following their dreams, Martin Luther King j.r, president JFK, Michael Jackson. All those people died doing what they dreamed of doing. Was it worth it? Is a silly dream worth a person's own LIFE? In my opinion it is not worth it to dream if dreams are dangerous. Look at college sports for an example, some players are good enough to make it to the pros, but boom then they get a career ending injury and are left in the dust.
