The parents and close relatives are always in the front and may have benches reserved for the people most closed to them. Normally, parents are seated in the front, grandparents are seated in the second row, and any other honored or important guests are seated behind them or as close to the front as possible.

I received six gifts from my aunts and uncles: a Bible, a bouquet of flowers, a ring, a bracelet, a rosary and a tiara. Each of them was blessed by the father. Each gift I received held a meaning: closeness with family and with God, and the passage to womanhood.

An Islamic wedding ceremony can take place in many places apart from a Mosque, even though a Mosque is highly preferred. Before the ceremony, the bride and groom should find out whether it’s possible to video and take photos of the event. Flowers and ornaments are not allowed in the Mosque even though the bride and groom are decorated with flowers for the service. If the ceremony takes place in a venue which isn’t a Mosque, the bride and groom have more freedom to decorate, providing they seek advice from the local ‘Imam’, of what is appropriate.
The Bridal Table. The bride and groom may sit at a long rectangular head table or round table at the focal point of the room, or alternatively, at their very own "sweetheart" table. Some couples choose to have no table at all, but to leave a few seats empty at every table so they can mingle throughout the reception. No matter which configuration you choose, the bridal table is usually set apart from the others by some type of decoration, such as flowers. Classically, the groom sits to the bride 's right and the best man sits to her left. The maid of honor sits to the groom 's right. Depending on how large the table is, the other attendants should be scattered around. Being Roman Catholic is what lead me to become an altar server for St. Gabriel’s Catholic church in 2008, today I continue to altar serve until I leave for Michigan State University in the fall. By participating in altar serving, it has taught me to the importance of timing along with why we should respect tradition. Altar serving has also taught me a sense of community by connecting me to members of the church I would not normally seek out. Being an altar server allows me to serve God while serving my church. As a former member of The Dance Centre competitive dance team (2008-2016) I learned that not all people are as they seem. The Dance Centre competitive team was unlike any team I had ever been a part of. The includes girls from various
