Hello, Freshmen! Welcome to Tuacahn High School. I want to tell you that you made a great decision in coming here. Personally, I came to Tuacahn during my junior year, which may seem to be daunting. But I had great time fitting in and get along with everybody. However, if you were just like me, and don’t quite find people or friend right away, then you should try hanging out with the teachers. Usually during lunch time, I would go to my favorite classes. There you will find students or the teacher eating there that you can talk with. Even if it just only the teacher, try to know them more, because they can be really interesting and give some great advice. My favorite teachers in this school were: Mr. Andrus (Computers), Mrs. Hickmen (English),
For incoming freshman who are attending to Oakland Unity, there are some things you need to know. Incoming freshmen need to be prepared for school by bringing folders and especially pencils. It's important for freshmen to bring materials school because teachers will not provide them. Since eighth grade is the last year for middle school, you would usually hang out with friends you've known for a long time. Unfortunately, when transferring to high school, friends will (or eventually) depart from you. So I recommend for incoming freshmen to try to make some new friends. Middle school grades and work were easy to achieve and weren't important back then, but now you're transferring into high school. High school is very hard and
Growing up in the south we tend to create and use colorful vocabulary. We have y’all, darn-tootin, fixin-to and among others cattywampus. Cattywampus is a word that I have grown up hearing in my house. To me it means messy, disorganized, and to say the least discombobulated. The etymology of a word does not always have to be symbolic; sometimes there is an actual historical story behind it. My mom still tells me today that my room, car, or myself are all “cattywampus” and that I should fix it.
When Norse F. Rabalais who was born and raised in Simmersport, Louisiana (Avoyelles Parish) was a child there was no navigation lock to lower ships to the Mississippi, the water just poured out, ships with it, and flowed into the distributary known as Atchafalaya. A lot of parishes above New Orleans and quite a bit north of Baton Rouge (Louisiana’s capital) there’s a navigation lock in Mississippi’s bank allows ships to drop out of the river. Because of nature, they drop up to thirty-three feet then can go west or south. This is something very strange and rare between the river and its adjacent terrain. That adjacent terrain is known as Cajun country. The local parishes are Pointe Coupee Parish and Avoyelles parish.
They key objective of the Coop 12 program is to give you a taste of a career choice that you have an interest in. Since I knew that I want to become a Registered Nurse I was placed at the South Cumberland Community Care Center and at the Parrsboro Regional Elementary School in the grade Primary/ One class. In the time of 100 hours I needed, I spent most of those hours at the hospital. There had been a variety of different jobs that I was able to do at the hospital, more than I was able to do at the elementary school. In the next couple paragraphs I will explain the experience I had gained during my placements and how they had given me the extra support for my decision on my future career. My experience also had many good sides and bad sides
in the book nightJohn by Gary Paulsen, it was in the time that slaves were used for white's personal needs weather it was fair or not. During the life as a slave many children didn’t see their birth mothers, and slaves warn’t allowed to learn, and the white’s were, so the whites had more power than the slaves. In an every day life was like a rerun, until a new slave was bought by the Waller also known as “master”. Waller often bought slaves, but this slave was unsuspected to be bought because he had whip scars and bruises all over his body, the new slave was later known as nightJohn. nightJohn was later introduced to Sarny when he started asking people for tobacco, and trading for letters for it, and that’s when Sarny couldn’t keep quiet any longer, and asked “a letter?” (page 34). Sometimes the most strictest rules need to be broken for the better.

Bennett Cohn, a sophomore at Quince Orchard High School, likes to have fun with his friends, and plays sports such as hockey and lacrosse. Cohn has practically been playing sports since he could walk: “I’ve been playing hockey for 9 years and lacrosse for 7 years.” Although Cohn describes himself as mellow and shy, he has, “a more upbeat personality once [he] is more comfortable around people.” As a hockey player, Cohn has achieved many goals. “I have several hockey accomplishments,” Cohn states, “I am the captain of my hockey team and we won a tournament to go play in Canada, and that’s only this year.” As much as Cohn enjoys playing hockey, he also loves watching it. Cohn’s favorite hockey team is the Washington Capitals simply because, “they’re

The Prairie Meadows Scholarship will help me to pursue an education at the University of Iowa. With the money given I would use it to earn a degree in engineering or a degree dealing something with the law. My favorite subjects in High School were math and science. My whole life math has always come easy to me and for some odd reason I have a passion for math. During my Junior year of High School I took my second physics class and gained an interest in physics. Besides math and science, when I was a young boy I always dreamed of becoming a police detective, I used to run around the house pretending I was getting all of the “bad guys”. Now a days I also find being a lawyer fun and intriguing. I plan on earning my degree and graduation college.

I read your post and I was fascinated, I can understand your way of thinking and you values. It’s nice to know that their still people that are transcendence and believe that life should beautiful without bad and negative stuff around them. Being a grateful person is good because, you feel full of life and be able to obtain your goals. I gree with you about forgiveness values, I think that a lot of people experience that in their life, I am want of them, I don’t like to hate that a word that I don’t said and don’t think of it. I just put the negative in the same but I don’t forget, I learned to be alert. Great post.

A pivotal event that occurred in the history of Trepca regarding the Yugo-slav ruling was the strike that Trepca miners called on February 20, 1989. This strike consisted of 1300 men who refused to eat or to leave the mine until three high-rank officials imposed by the Serbian Government were to be removed. Their list of demands quoted from Noel Malcolm was: ‘the dismissal of Rrahman Morina and the reversal of Milosevic’s ‘discrimina-tory policies’, but the first item of the list was ‘No retreat from the funda-mental principles of the 1974 constitution’. Julie Mertus, in her book on Kosovo myths and truths that numerous work stoppages and demonstra-tions broke around Kosovo regions to support the miners on their protest. As Mertus quotes on
It was in 1973, that a young, brazen and ostentatious Donald Trump, met one of New York’s most notorious attorney: Roy Cohn, whose name was synonymous with the rise of manipulative political power acts. Roy was known to be a ruthless prosecutor who had mastered control over all the loopholes in the law and had become the premier practitioner of hardball deal making, offering his help to defend even the mafia networks. Cohn became a business mentor and nearly a second father to Trump. Trump first hired Cohn to sue the federal government. The allegations that Trump faced had accused him of renting his prime apartments only to White people thereby showing a racial bias. This was clearly against the fair housing act which the congress had passed.
Lying on my bed in the month of Ramadan, I hear the Azaan (call to prayer) permeate through the walls as it was time to perform Taraweeh (prayer). Lying on my bed in the month of an arbitrary month, October, quietude disseminated throughout the house as my hijab reverted back into a fall neck scarf and the janamaz (prayer mat) was deposited away for mere ornamentation. We all sat in pure silence, twiddling our thumbs and making quick glances at the Qur’an stacked on the shelf as we reminisce its mandatory usage throughout such a holy month. Why isn’t it of use on a daily basis?
