Once the Word document screen has opened, you will notice that there are a number of interesting features.

Curser Denotes were you are working in the document. The curser can be moved by moving the mouse and clicking once when you are where you want to be.
Title bar Tells you the name of the document that you are currently working on.
Scroll bar Allows you to move the page up and down
Minimise button Makes the document smaller (half the size of the screen so that you can see other documents behind it or so that you can work side by side with other documents. 8.1 Other keys on the keyboard

Key Function
Shift The shift key is a modifier key on a keyboard, used to type capital letters and other alternate "upper" characters. There are typically two shift keys, on the left and right sides of the row below the home row.
Caps Lock By pressing the “Caps Lock” on a computer keyboard, it will set a keyboard mode in which typed letters are all capitalised. By pressing it again, the letters will once again be typed in small letters or non capitals.
Enter A key on the keyboard that does not generate a printable character. It is used to carry out your selected command or insert blank lines in a document while entering text.
Space bar The spacebar or space key is a key on a keyboard in the form of a horizontal bar in the lowermost row. Its main purpose is to conveniently enter the space, e.g., between words during typing.
Backspace A backspace key on a keyboard moves the cursor or insertion point backward one character space. The backspace key may also delete the character to the left of the cursor or insertion point.
Tab Tab key (abbreviation of tabulator key) on a keyboard is used to advance the cursor to the next tab stop.
Cursor keys These are keyboard keys that move the pointer, or cursor, on the screen. They include the up, down, left and right arrow, home, end, page up
