When I leave home to move to college, I will be 17, and if classes start later than most schools, freshly 18. I will spend my very first days of legality and adulthood at college, surrounded by professors that are ready to teach and students that are ready to learn. At the Wharton School I will be able to learn financial accounting from extremely bright professors. Financial Accounting is my road into the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and from there I will use my knowledge of languages to gain status, until I am able to become a lead detective. In order to enter into the FBI, I will need to stand out, as an accountant, from others of my profession. Wharton offers me the opportunity to be close to home while studying accounting at the business
Each and every school presents itself with new opportunities for their students; UHS presents some of the best opportunities in the country for music students such as myself. UHS provides their students with one of the best music programs available in California. This is one of the many reasons I long to attend UHS. As a violinist I want the best way to improve, along with honing my skills and University High School is the best place to do so. In addition the small classroom, as well as the low school population sparks my interest. I believe that the enclosed environment will provide enhanced collaboration between the professor, and student. This connection between mentor and pupil is critical to victory in high school, and large schools with
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” recited Eleanor Roosevelt. Why is it that some high schoolers want to graduate early? It is true that leaving high school to begin college is a hard decision to make. However, this decision can change your life, your personality and the way to see life. You can grow personally and academically. When you make this decision you obviously you set goals to reach. For me, my first goal is to grow and develop myself. I don’t want to spend years in high school learning basic things that I can learn somewhere else. I also want to discover myself. I want to lead the journey of self-seeking and find who the real me is. My second goal is to challenge myself. I don’t want to have a habitual educational background. I want to immerse in a new environment who is foreign to me because I’m an international student and learn something I wouldn’t
Transitioning to college certainly causes stress and anxiety for most incoming students. As an athlete, these students face additional hurdles with rigorous schedules lasting all day, full course loads and being away from friends and family. Until they settle into university life, life can be rather trying for any student--much less a student athlete.
All around the world the expectation out of high school is you need to go straight into college/university and you need to know what your major is after your first year. Most high schools will focus on a local college or university that is close and has the best interest in the students, but sometimes they focus on the school that they get benefits from so when a school focuses on a local college it may not be the place for you because regardless and in most cases your high school schedule and the classes you take are based on that local college or university so if you like high school and think it gets you ready for that school more power to you but overall high schools definitely push students into local colleges.
Imagine waking up right when the sun is peaking up from behind the hills. The birds are chirping, the animals are waking up, and the dew is melt on the ground. A perfect time to wake up and get ready for school since your school has gave students an extra 20 to 40 minutes of sleep. Students are getting this extra time because the school has decided to have a later school time. But this could many problems. For example, it can be very expensive and it can cause a big change in a student's schedule.
My undergraduate degree is finally complete and I can finally move on to graduate school. What is graduate school going to be like? What should I expect from graduate school? Those are both good questions and I have thoughts on both of them. One thing that is for sure, I am excited about starting graduate school and can't wait to begin. I am so glad I found the educational administration program at UTPB.
By attending Wharton, I will have the best opportunity to change this world through the gates of the business
After reading more into what my major/career means, I do have a better understanding of what every day on the job would look like. Since I did go to high school, I do know what being a high school teacher entails. I cannot wait to graduate and get my career started. The only thing that makes me worry or have doubts is the fact that a job right after college is not guaranteed. Some people are money motivated and I am not one of those people. I will do whatever it takes to do what I love doing. Expected salary I can expect to earn, meaning I get a teaching job, would be around $55,000. This would definitely be enough to pay off my student loans. The situation where I wouldn’t be able to pay off my student loans, would probably be if I end up
“BEEP BEEP BEEP” You lift the lump of what's called a body, when you see your clock says 7:45. Your body goes into kick start mode, while you rush to dress you hear the roar of your school bus calling the students to the stops. As you run out it starts leaving, although you chase the bus after it leaves you in the dust. This is the reality that students face if their schools that start early.
Since moving away to college, my family’s financial circumstance has declined. My brother, his wife, and his son all had to move back into my mom’s house because they were unable to support their family and afford an apartment. Therefore, my mom began to care for her grandson, so that my brother and his wife could go back to work and get on their feet. This only added to my mom’s other, recently acquired, financial burdens of having to pay for multiple car repairs and having to replace her entire air conditioning unit. Therefore, I started to work more hours at my on-campus job, so that I could help relieve my mom of some of her financial burdens. My efforts to help my mom financially, have now prevented me from participating in many clubs
Throughout elementary school, class was always too easy for me. I could talk in class, goof around, pay zero attention, and still get great grades. My parents never knew that I was a terrible student with great grades. Unfortunately, these habits stuck with me through the majority of middle school. It got me by until my freshman year. When I faced personal struggles mixed with poor academic choices, I set myself up for failure. Not only am I completely embarrassed by this, but I can't hide it. This slip of paper that haunts me through this entire admission process. My high school transcript. I shelter it from my friends when handed out in full class meetings, I rip it up as soon as I get it in the mail before my parents can see, I've even lied
Adjusting to an unfamiliar setting can be a frightful, and an uneasy thought; however, college offers opportunities to make the transition smoother. Dr. Randall S. It is of vital importance for students to decide to go to a boarding high school or go to a high school where students still live with their families.
