China is among the countries in the world with rich history and boasts of the occurrence of an ancient civilization. China was subdivided for many years and it then was integrated with the establishment of some new dynasties. During the period of the regimes, several alterations happened in the political, economic and social structures.
The Sui dynasty The initial changes occurred during the dynasty of Sui in 581.The other changes occurred in 618 during the regime of tang and in 960 during the reign of the song. Yang Jian was the founder of the Sui dynasty. Yang came from a well-respected noble family that resided in northern China. The emperor also instigated the construction of the Great Canal. The canal was a waterway that connected the country's south and north. It facilitated the easier bidirectional transportation of the army from the north towards the south and the agricultural produce coming to the south towards the north thus the reinforcement of the prosperity and might of the dynasty. Unfortunately, the dynasty never reigned for a long time when Yangdi the son of Jian succeeded after the death of the founding monarch ruler. Yangdi was a despotic leader whose era was so disastrous as compared to the other regimes. He oppressed the subjects by the imposition of cruel taxes and scarification of numerous laborers in the construction of extravagant palaces, the rebuilding of the Great Wall and the construction of the Grand Canal. Additionally, Yangdi started careless wars that were disastrous. The wars resulted in the rebellion and destabilization of the Chinese economy.
