What Are The Economic Causes Of The English Civil War

In 1861, a Civil War broke out in the United States when the South declared their independence from the Union. There is a great amount of reasons that people can argue how the Civil War was started. However, what most people don’t understand, is that most of the events leading up to the Civil War were related to slavery. Slavery was the core of the North and South’s conflict, which led to a very vicious feud.

In April 1642, the Civil war started in England. The civil war ended up by King Charles losing the war. And in my essay I am going to talk about many reasons why Charles lost the civil war.

Although the American Civil War mainly occurred because of slavery, the fact is that slavery had a lot to do with economic and social issues.

The Civil War was caused by the economics of slavery and the political control of that system, specifically being states’ rights on the federal powers of the government, the territorial expansion of the united states that led to the division of the two sides, and the election of President Abraham Lincoln which was the final event that sent the nation to war.

Many causes led to the Civil War. This all happened around the mid 1800s. It was a conflict between the Northern and Southern states. Both sides had their own view on slavery, and their separate views caused contentions between the two. Both had different views on whether to expand or stop slavery growth to the West, or have slavery at all.

The Industrial Revolution that the North was experiencing was great for the country. The factories brought in substantial revenue for the government. This was attained because the factories workers could build faster, and sell larger quantities of the product which meant they could make larger amounts of money rapidly. The Industrial Revolution, however, was only being experienced in the North, and not the South, which eventually led to much difficulty and a disparity between these regions of the country. With the support of the Union, the North wanted the South to join them, but they were so invested in their farm sand plantations that they couldn’t abandon them and build factories, and this is where the economic

The battle of Fort Sumter was the last battle leading to the civil war. Also the election angered many states created the Union and confederacy sides also causing the civil war.

The causes of the Civil War were complex and have been controversial since the country began. Some causes include; states’ rights, economics, and slavery. The most recognizable and popular cause is slavery. The freeing of the slaves was an important moral issue at the time and one of the greatest causes of the civil war. "It was only by carefully avoiding the moral issue involved in slavery that Northerners and Southerners could meet on any common ground." (Goldston, 79). The time came in which our great country would finally address the moral issue of slavery. Although there are many different causes to the American Civil War, the main cause was slavery because other causes are rooted in the issue of slavery.

Factors that were the root of the Civil War were mainly economic and political differences. These differences increased sectionalism and tension in the United States; north versus south, each having different views on slavery, economy, and political policies. The inability to settle into a fair agreement resulted in the Civil War.

Slavery was a big reason for the start of the civil war, but the causes don’t end there. Although some may say that political or economic reasons started the civil war between the north and the south, political reasons were the real cause. This is because of important decisions made by the government, and the south seceding.

One key reason that contributed to the beginning of the civil war was Charles’ financial issues. Not only was Charles practically broke but he had also started charging illegal ship tax to English citizens. This also fed into his political issues, as he needed the government’s permission to charge taxes. He also needed them to grant him loans to pay for personal expenses such as banquets and attire. I think that this was a big contributing factor to the start of the civil war as Charles angered both the Government- as Charles had charged tax without their permission and also citizens- as they did not want to be handing over even more money to Charles.

The time before the English Civil War would frame the causes and undertones of the Civil War. The Black Plague to Martin Luther would play a part in some of the things that could have lead to the war. Just take a look at the English Civil War. and you will find that territory,economics, and religion,psychology or sociology.
