I never gave any thought about a prisoner conditions before this class and always though that the one’s that end up in solitary confinement diserved it due to the crime they have commited and how danjories they were to other prisoners. This really baffols me about my own ignorance towards other issuse in the world and not on things that my just effect me. Some of the cons for solitary confinement would be that it provides prisoners with some protection from the general population due to that security protocols that are much higher in solitary so, it becomes much more difficult to harm someone. Another one would be that it still allows a prisoner to serve their sentence. The cons to solitary confinement is that prisoners develop personality disorders when left alone. But now perisoners are in solitary confinement not becuase they broke the rules of the prison or killed someone but becase they were belived to be connected to a prison gang. They can end up in the just by being in a picture with a gang member and they go through the game validation were the prisoner can prove he is not involve but that never had worked. I think solitary confinement should be used but only on a prisoner that is beyond rehabitaion. It doesn noe make sense to put someone in the shu for something they did not do and forgrt why they were there in the first place which is to serve thier time and help them be the better versions of themselves. There would be a system to decied if someone should be in solitary confinemen or not and not just have one man decied their fate.
