What Is Jay Gatsby Only True Love

When Tom uncovers Gatsby’s secret,which is hidden by him for so many years,everything is ruined by time. His status,money,business and all the things which he works hard for to become an uptown man are all be founded. So he is angry to death and even want to kill him. In that moment,he thoroughly exposes his essence. When Daisy eventually know the real Gatsby,the poor man,she is back to the rich Tom again and asks him to take her home. With a wealthy and having high status gentleman is more safe and happy life,which always can be this rich girl’s choice.

Gatsby exemplifies an individual who can not always get what he or she yearns for. He possesses more than millions of people have combined, yet is still not satisfied. There is only one thing that Gatsby is destined to have, and that is Daisy Buchanan’s unconditional love. Hence by the name, she is married to another man: Tom Buchanan. The madness begins before Daisy gets married when she shares a kiss of a lifetime with James Gatz.      Throughout his love for Daisy, he tried different ways to get her to love him. Gatsby lied by acting like someone he is not. Gatsby love to her was through other people. All the friends he made, turned out not to be his friends. The loneliness that he experienced caused him to find a way for his friends and Daisy to love him. He never won the love of Daisy or his friends. The lies and games, he played cost the loss of his life.

Gatsby had constantly in mind the date he lost Daisy; he dreamt of the day he could have her back and of the day she would confess her love to him. “Five years next November” (87) he told Daisy when they met again. It all started in autumn of 1917 in Louisville, Kentucky. Gatsby was a lieutenant in the war and Daisy was just 18 years old. Even then Gatsby bestowed the same infatuation for Daisy that he does now, five years later. Over the course of those five years Gatsby did everything he could to become wealthy so that maybe he could find his way to Daisy again. Gatsby has been at work for Daisy ever since he met her, but in the end Daisy always chose her husband and not her lover. He would always try to win her over with expensive things. This quote describes perfectly what Gatsby was doing, “ his goal is galvanized for him early on when was a poor young army lieutenant he is prevented from pursuing a relationship with Daisy.” Gatsby still trying his best efforts sent a love letter to Daisy on her wedding night. Daisy opened the letter, she loved it but knew she had to marry Tom. When Gatsby is killed, Daisy forgets all about him and moves on with her life. Nobody can disagree that the romance between Gatsby and Daisy was, at one time, extremely real and very passionate. In fact, just look at this quote from when Daisy rekindled her relationship with Gatsby, "They were sitting at either end of the couch, looking at each other as if some question had been asked, or was in the air, and every vestige of embarrassment was gone. Daisy’s face was smeared with tears, and when I came in she jumped up and began wiping at it with her handkerchief before a mirror. But there was a change in Gatsby that was simply confounding. He literally glowed; without a word or a gesture of exultation a new well-being radiated from him and filled the little room." All through the book, Gatsby's mind is stuck on getting Daisy back. He thinks that in one magical moment, Daisy will leave Tom and return to his bed for a fairy tale ending. After he comes back from the war his thoughts are on his love's betrayal, her marriage. He sees his actions as a method of love, but his thoughts are ill hearted towards others. He has been involved in illegal financial methods and is trying to break up a marriage for his own gain in life. After their fling officially begins, Gatsby has Daisy lying to Tom and he is convincing her that she never loved her husband. Gatsby thinks that by getting Daisy to realize her marital mistakes, she will simply leave Tom and marry him.  He is corrupting a relationship and an individual further than their present state of dishonesty. He thinks that his plans are going accordingly until a heated discussion breaks out and he is on the losing end. He has ended up emotionally unbalancing Daisy to the point where she accidentally kills someone. Gatsby then takes the blame like it was nothing with the thought that it is his duty. What is love? Is love when someone is obsessed with someone to the point of doing anything for them or idolizing everything they are to a point of extremes? Can someone love someone else when they could actually be in love with the idea this certain someone has of this object of their affection? Gatsby idolizes Daisy as this perfect being rather than a person that Gatsby actually loves. He is tied to her in her past without any of the constraints of the social world as if he loves her back when they first met. Gatsby is in denial that Daisy has moved on with her life and doesn’t even seem to realize most of the time that she is married and has a child or social responsibilities. Therefore, when looking at Gatsby’s most impressive traits one thing that pops up is his energetic smile, vibrant personality, and loyalty to those who he respects or cares about. It is important to mention the fact that Gatsby always seemed to make every person feel important and at ease while conversing with him. It was his nature to express courtesy to any guest he came in contact with, no matter how insignificant they were or what their occupation was. As far as loyalty is concerned, it is best represented in his devotion to Daisy Buchanan. With his money and notoriety he could have easily have had numerous love opportunities. He sacrificed all openings for love as he stoked the coals trying to ignite a past flame with a married women. Even when Jay and Daisy’s relationship was over in the readers mind Gatsby still clung to a hope of having a life with her. He loyally stayed at her house to the wee hours of the morning, convinced her husband was a live wire that could erupt and physically punish his wife. Love the one thing that circulates the whole novel to the end. The one thing that can make somebody do anything for just that one very special person to them that they love . I do believe that Gatsby’s love for Daisy is genuine. It doesn’t matter that the Daisy that he’s in love with is in authentic. He is truly in love with what she represents and that is beauty and wealth. These 2 reasons is what really stands out for him and his love. Remembering that in the book Gatsby tells Nick that Daisy’s voice sounds like money. He is fully in love with this woman the feeling might just not be fully mutual. Buying into his dreams is just a man looking for a better life from the being born into a poor family. Gatsby thinks that he is what best fits Daisy and that he will take care of her. All cause of this one word called love.
