Have you ever heard “The best things in life are worth waiting for.”? Well this quote might as well have been written by fictional character Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother. Ted had to travel down a very long and difficult road to find true love. Ted was featured in numerous relationships with different girls that he felt could be “the one”. However, something or someone always seemed to interfere with the relationship, which only led to heartbreak and disappointment. This seemed to be a reoccurring theme for Ted throughout the show. An example of a failed relationship with a girl Ted felt could be “the one”, is when Ted dated Stella Zinman (Sarah Chalke). Many people throughout history have also faced adversity and have been resilient through it. For example, Tyler Perry; he had a terrible childhood, he was physically and sexually abused as a child, kicked out of high school, and tried to commit suicide twice in his lifetime. Still, through all his hardships, he produced and starred in his first theater production, I Know I’ve Been Changed, which failed. Therefore he obtained odd jobs to pay for the production; finally on the seventh run the show broke through. Through all his hardships he never gave up and today has a successful career as a writer, director, and actor. Oprah Winfrey also endured a rough childhood because of sexual abuse, she had a child at fourteen who passed away two weeks after. She continued on to finish high school with honors and get a scholarship for college. She worked her way up from TV anchor to a creator of her own network. Scientist Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with ALS and through his colleague, friends, and family’s support he became a great scientist. Through his perseverance Hawking managed many accomplishments such as his published book on the theories of the Big Bang. Nelson Mandela was also a person with great resilience who dreamed of racial equality and spent 27 years in prison for it.

Especially because I don't want you to end up like me.” The conversation is still fresh in my memory and tears form in the corner of my eyes when I think about it. My mother was aware that her life was no walk in the park and I think that's what hurt me the most. I would never want my children to see me in such a state that I've seen my mother in. At the same time I would want her to see that hard work truly pays off. A miracle is just another word for the result of hard work. Some people are born with silver spoons in their mouth and I've seen how meaningless their lives turn out to be. My mother proved to me that your struggles make you stronger and define who you are. Struggling is almost impossible to avoid and rather than sulking about it, I'd rather use it to make me a stronger person, like my mom
Theodore Robert Crowell, also known as Ted Bundy, was born on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont. Eleanor Cowell, Ted’s mother, was twenty-two years old and unmarried when she had him. Ted’s father left Eleanor before Ted was born and there is no concrete proof on who Ted’s father really was. Eleanor being an unmarried mother was very upsetting to her parents, as they were very religious and did not believe in unmarried pregnancies so Eleanor delivered Ted at a home for unwed mothers in Vermont, later bringing Ted to her parents’ home in Philadelphia. To hide Ted being an illegitimate child, he was
As said from the book, “Or Ted Lavender adopting an orphan puppy --- feeding it from a plastic spoon and carrying it in his rucksack until the day Azar strapped the puppy to a Claymore antipersonnel mine and squeezed the firing device.” (O’Brien 35). As cruel as the quote seems, it ideal to try and view it from multiple perspectives. It can be assumed that Ted used to puppy to help feel human again and to disguise his emotions. But it’s viewed that to Azar, who has nothing that is keeping him from remembering when he felt like a human, he has a type jealousy and disgust towards Ted.
Ted is Ehrenreich’s trainer and she is not necessarily fond of him. Ted is the one who is playing the training videos for Ehrenreich and who will occasionally stop the videos to highlight important situations in the video, for example, when the maid in the training video was dusting around a vase, Ted stopped the video to tell Ehrenreich that “that’s an accident waiting to happen.” Ehrenreich becomes annoyed with Ted and describes him as having cartoon like feature that are similar to that of a pug. Ted’s face, according to Ehrenreich, is pudgy and he has button like eyes and a tiny nose. Ehrenreich also goes on to describe his stomach as fitting tightly in a shirt that hangs over his shorts.
