Harry Parr & Cheyne Row Harry Parr as noted, did not take an active role in the lives of his children, but that is not to say he remained aloof to their needs. In the early 1920s, Parr and his wife Kate had to be very careful with their meagre earnings. They did not have money to spare to buy their three children, Katharine, Malcolm, and Bridget Parr, commercially available birthday presents. Instead, they gave their children something much more personal, presents they had made themselves. These small pottery representations of their favourite fairy tales, and were much treasured by the children.
