To me law enforcement means a lot of things. Its not all about arresting someone. It means to be there when you are needed, to be a service to the community, the good old saying to serve and protect. I love law enforcement, because I am afforted the oppertunity to make a diffrences, where as in some other carrees you are not able too.
Its really hard to speak on others and their opinion about law enforcement. To them law enforcement could mean saving a life, stopping someone on a traffic stop or somepeole really dont like what we do. Thats ok, because everyone is intitled to their opinion.
With law enforcement its about protceting the community, your family, partners and
The world of Law Enforcement is something that often gets laughed at, especially in this day and age. People don’t respect Law Enforcement, or even care about them, as much as they actually should. After all, who comes to find the culprit if your home has been burglarized? Or what about a loved one being killed, who finds the murderer? There are so many things that everyday citizens forget about, things that happen more often than we’d like to admit, and we should be thankful that we have people to deal with all of it for us. Why would you let the action, poor judgement, or any mistake of one single person affect the way you see an entire group? That’s like saying every German is a Nazi, and they all hate Jews.
To a majority of society, law enforcement officers are viewed as the protectors of society. Due to the fact that officers provide a service to the community they could be placed in a position
Law enforcement officers are a part of our communities to protect and serve us from danger and to apprehend criminals that disobey the law. It is their job to apprehend criminals and respond to calls from the people. Most enforcement officers have to stay in their designated areas, or jurisdiction, and respond to any calls or monitor the area. They are there to catch any
The main purpose of the law enforcement is to maintain order and enforcing the laws. The police are given one toughest tasks in the world, and that is with preservation wellbeing of the public. When dealing with people that those that violate the law and situations that creates, the police are authorized to use as much as force as necessary and within reason to protect themselves and others. It is sometimes quiet difficult for the public to understand what is reasonable when it comes to the use of force. It is very easy to watch a video and judge when you are not in the situation or do not have the level of training that officers are given.
Law enforcement is a career that is both violent and rewarding in many capacities. Justice needs to be served in law enforcement and they have a responsibility to uphold the law and serve the people in the community. Law enforcement is crucial in the world today as a global realm as life continues to be more complex and law enforcement struggles to combat many aspects of crime. Also I enjoy the various jobs that Law Enforcement proposes; you get to learn something new every day. Becoming a Police Officer offers new challenges daily and there are few career fields more challenging than Law
There is a significant health issue facing the public as well as law enforcement every day, suicide. The numbers surrounding suicide are shocking effects people of all backgrounds. In the year 2010 more than 38,000 adults committed suicide. Then in 2011 around 1 million adults admitted to attempting suicide, while 8 million had serious suicidal thoughts. Law Enforcement officers are at an even higher risk then most due to experiencing such a large number of risk factors. These factors include but are not limited to poor physical health, access to fire arms, domestic abuse, substance abuse, exposure to violence and suicide; depression, anxiety and other mental diseases. These factors lead to an above average number of officer suicides every
I get asked the same question all the time, why do you want to be in law enforcement? My answer: This world has far too many bad people out there and not enough good people. I want to fight the good fight, the best way I know how. By helping the people in my community. With each person I help I hope to spark a change in not only their lives but the lives of those around them. This spark will turn into a flame and then a burning fire of hope, that spreads across this world. This is my
Since the beginning years of American history and basically every other country has been kept safe by the police or police type department. In the United States, there are three levels of law enforcement, there is the Federal level, the State level, and the Local level. The levels of law enforcement have various duties but most duties are very similar. Every day in the field is very different. The job can also be extremely stressful, and law enforcement professionals need specific training to succeed. A career in law enforcement is a secure job to have because crime never stops. What is law enforcement? It is a system where members of society perform in such manner to enforce laws by discovering, deterring, rehabilitating, or punishing the members of society who violate the laws that protect society. In other words “The generic name for the activities of the agencies responsible for maintaining public order and enforcing the law, particularly the activities of prevention, detection, and investigation of crime and the apprehension of criminals” (BJS).
The law enforcement community operates and has similarities like the military. They both have some type of basic training. They wear uniforms, have a rank structure, policy and procedures govern their actions, and in most cases have a politician as their commander or chief. Military members make up the largest candidate pool for law enforcement
The American people look at individuals who work in law enforcement as individuals who are supposed to protect and hold up the constitutional rights of all individuals. The fourth Amendment clearly states that a person has “The right to be secure in their purses, houses, and
The term referred to in this question is “community caretaker”. Law Enforcement first obligation to “protect” Law Enforcement protects the lives of others and when acting in that capacity of protecting lives the Fourth Amendment does not apply (Hunter, 2009). We in law enforcement also refer to another familiar term known as “exigent circumstances”. These are exceptions to the requirements of warrants under Fourth Amendment search and seizures (Busby, 2009). Under this exclusion Law Enforcement may act if they can justify and articulate the reasoning they believe that they wouldn’t have time to get a warrant because there is a strong likelihood the evidence would be lost or destroyed. They can also apply this exception when responding to an
The reason I picked this topic was because in the future I want to be a police officer for my career since I was a lil kid I always looked up to the job since I think police officers have a great responsibility for serving and protecting neighborhoods, from crime but now a days or since the 80s they been having a bad rep from the people saying they don’t protect they just wanna abuse there power but in reality there just doing there job and if the people don’t like it they shoudnt be calling the police whenever they have a problem since they think they don’t do there job just don’t call them simple as that.
Every encounter law enforcement have with a subject/public doesn’t require an arrest, search or seizures. However, we as law enforcement officers help assist with referral for woman and children, to various services in the city. Law enforcement officers, also provide first response to emergencies and other serious threat to person and public safety. I most definitely love helping and supporting individual's however much as could reasonably be expected. Furthermore in some cases law enforcement officer do more customer services to the public more so than arrests. For instance, in my department, every Christmas we find a family that’s in need to sponsor, officers would get together and purchase gift for one person in the family.
Have you ever needed the cops, firefighters, or paramedics in your life? Well, I have, and they were there in a matter of minutes to get me the help I needed. Every day each of the three emergency services put their lives on the line to help anyone. Most of the time people are grateful for the help, but others are often ignorant, or disrespectful. There will always be people who love and support law enforcement, but more and more people are starting to not appreciate their services. Which is bad for this country because we are revolting against the ones who protect us from the evils of this world.
