Why am I writing this essay? Why have I chosen this topic to write about? How is my brain piecing together the words that I am typing? These types of questions, questions about the why’s and how’s of my very own behavior, are the types of questions that I ask myself everyday. A teacher of mine, Ms. Beller, told me once that each and every day we as humans make up to 30,000 decisions a day. The decisions we make decide how our day will play out. Deciding to walk a different way to class one day could cause you to run into an old friend you haven’t seen in awhile or bump into a past teacher. These encounters could set off an entirely different chain of events and a different path your day may take. I was fascinated by this knowledge, and wanted
Since the beginning of time, the environment in which one is accustomed to provides them with the choices that lead down paths that make their legacy. This environment can be negative or positive, structured or chaotic, rich or poor, all which give a variety of choices. Regardless of the different trials and tribulations we face ultimately, it is the choices we make in response that make us the person we become.
I believe your choice is what makes you. We all have a choice in our life. That can be how we act, how we will feel when we wake up to how our actions will affect our day. Everyone has a choice in this life. My choice was to choose happiness. Happiness is what keeps my mind positive, what makes my positive attitude rub off on people. Growing up thinking I never had a choice that people around me choose my choices. Being me, I let people around me choose my choices for me. How I was going to act or feel to this day. I never thought about making my our choices until I started telling myself that I want my attitude to rub off on people. I needed to start making my own choices. I decided to make the choice to choose to be happy. All the negative thoughts I have been thinking, and all the negative people I was around needed to change. People I hung around think so negative about each other they never have enough time to try and make a change. I've learned over the past year that how acting and the choices I make affect me so much. Happiness is what brought my dark days to sunny days. My negative thoughts to positive thoughts. Happiness is what brought me close to some of the amazing people I've
My audience will learn by reading my essay that life is full of amazing things. Life is also full of many obstacles and difficulties that sometimes can make you want to quit. These obstacles aren’t there to make you quit and give up,
As I sit here pondering on what to include in this essay, was it my own free choice or did the threat of a bad grade that would damage my GPA decide it? Or perhaps, the constant hounding my mom did when I was a child to always complete my homework days before it was due prompt me to compose this. Either way, free will can be explained by the experiences from the past and future that determine our choices. It is not possible that every decision we make is totally within our control and without any outside influences.
We often don’t think about what we do or even how we do things. The “Kenyon Commencement Speech” is teaching us how to think outside of ourselves. David says that hard-wired into our boards at birth is a basic self-centeredness and it’s a part of everyone. No one wants to admit that their world revolves around them, but what they fail to realize is that it’s a choice, a decision that one chooses to make. Reading, thinking, and analyzing this essay can help you realize that as a human being we can’t be self-centered, we have to be aware that life happens. A person can’t be selfish they have to be open-minded to real world situations, unplanned events that occur on an everyday bases.

Day1: Today’s goal is to get students thinking about how other people interact with the world and focusing on the idea that not everyone leads lives similar to their own. Remember these students are seven and eight and likely are not asked to reason in this way frequently. To begin students will write on a piece of paper something someone might think about them, this could range from a physical to a personal characteristic.
This essay spoke to me because in life you’re never granted tomorrow. Things can happen to anyone of us that can put us in harm’s way
Living in an Illusion As Nicolas Chamfort said, “Pleasure may come from illusion, but happiness can come only of reality”. The idea of this is that illusions can only please a person for a short period of time, but reality is the only place where you can truly find happiness. This is expressed throughout Clive Barker’s The Thief of Always, which revolves around ten year old Harvey Swick, who is being eaten alive by The Great Gray Beast of February; In other words boredom. Yet what he does not realize, is that just beyond a wall covered in fog, there is a magical place called The Holiday House.
Have you ever took a look into what's mixed into your culture or race? I am always interested in mixed cultures and races. But I'm starting to think it's because I am mixed. Regardless I have been fond of finding out my own background, or any in general. I'm not really fond of what my dad has, but rather what my mom has brought me.
Thinking about going to college? Great! One thing you have to plan is how you are going to afford it. There are many different ways to pay for tuition WITHOUT taking out student loans. Tuition has increased tremendously during the last 20 years. You may be able to receive scholarships or grants, FASFA, and much more! A scholarship is a form of financial aid that does not need to be repaid. You can be awarded scholarships for academic or athletic achievement. Student loans are what you should plan to stay away from. No debt is good. You will graduate college and still be paying for your student loans ten years later. Statistics show that 70% of college students graduate with debt, do not let that be you! Grants are another form of financial
I am Joelle Rolo-Koster and I come from Antioch. I was born in the tribe of Judah, in the year 130 A.D. I have five brothers and ten sisters. I am the youngest of my family. My grandmother is a priestess. I am a Christian. I am really scared that if they know that I am Christian they will persecute me. Especially since we do small liturgies in the attics of other people instead of ours. I am not scared of dying for my faith because I know that god will be with me.
When I witnessed the the murder, I knew that I had made the right decision for the movie to watch. Others would have chosen the the comedy, but being me, I chose the the horror movie. I made a decision that that makes me unique. I should always stand up for my decision because it is those decisions that that make me stand alone in a crowd.
I am not sure if my past emails were unclear or not. At home, we are teaching Ben the importance of being responsible. We feel that this is a key skill to learn to succeed not only in school but life itself. The way that we are teaching our child is by setting expectation and tasks that an 11 year can easily complete. His current task includes: making sure that his homework is done and packed in his bag before he goes to sleep. We had him removed from the patrol program because of the issue of him not getting his homework to or from school.
The person I chose for my research paper is Ms. Dolly Parton. I chose her because she is a wonderful person and artist, she shows true country colors. She is the “Queen of Country,” “The Backwoods Barbie,” “The Queen of Nashville,” and “The Leading Lady of Country.” Dolly Parton has constricted over 5,000 songs. She has won over 30 different awards, and been nominated for awards over 160 times, and has had over 20 top chart songs. She is truly a wonderful country artist. “I want to go and go, and then drop dead in the middle of something I 'm loving to do. And if that doesn 't happen, if I wind up sitting in a wheelchair, at least I 'll have on my high heels.” –Dolly Parton
