Seekers, researchers, philosophers and simple average individuals share an excellent trait, and that is to seek the divine truth. Humans were born with an insatiable hunger to discover where we come from, who we are, what makes us unique and most importantly what is our sole purpose of existence on this earth. Greek mythology can best tame the hunger. Therefore, mythology is alive in the present day because within ourselves we find that the inspiration is reborn, of an imaginary yet real world. In which we see ourselves as the protagonists and antagonists of the Greek mythology stories. It is illogical to be frightened by those whom we believe are in a better place with God. Therefore, a supernatural force is highly doubtful and not very much appealing as Greek Mythology to most individuals who seek facts, truth and are not easily convinced by a ghost story tale. Therefore, I believe Ghost are not as famous figures as to Beast Greek Gods. Such as the Satyrs (goat men) and the Centaurs (half man/horse). These characters capture the attention, imagination of the reader and are more believed to have existed long before our time. We believe it to be more appealing to our memory, rather than the new spider-man, batman and all others that have gained famed by propaganda television. (Hamilton pp.18) Recently in my freshman symposium class discussion about the labyrinth, dealing with faith and reason. The professor and father, Ted made a distinctive connection of the labyrinth to that of the tale of how the Minotaur (half bull/human) and the story of how they kept him from harming others. This being the case, we can be sure Greek Mythology is still widely referred to and spoken about in the present day. The Mediterranean has served as a vessel for the early civilizations., Greek mythology has influenced the life style and religion of the Greeks, especially because Greek mythology served as the primary basis of Greek belief, it became the nearest thing the Greeks had to a holy bible.1 These mythologies served as the center of Greek life and these mythologies served as their basis for their life and in turn the mythologies shaped the foundation of the Greek life style, culture, religion that we know today.
A lot of popular everyday items that we use in our life sometimes, are inspired by Greek mythology. Sports brands, movies and T.V shows, the most complicated technology, books and many more, are all examples of Greek Mythology. If you take modern day items that we use and compare it to Greek mythology, believe it or not there is a big connection.
