Animals in the zoo are inhumane and being held captive? Well, what do you think? Animals in the zoo aren’t inhumane or held captive. They are in there for a good reason like that they are sick or injured. The animals might not be able to live on their own so they might get placed in a zoo to help them out. They also are there to help out other animals that need help. They might just be there to be held to captivity.
In the zoo, there are animals who are sick or injured. They live in the zoo to get medical help. The animals might have an injury like a broken leg and in the wild it’s harder to survive. They live in the zoo to get help so they can soon be released back into the wild. The animals might have another issue or sickness that makes

Some animals might be just be there to be a friend. One animal might be lonely so they bring in another animal to help out the lonely, sick, injured animal. Zoos feel that some animals are lonely and need a buddy so the zoos bring in a buddy to help the other one out.
The third reason is if they are just there to be there, captivity. Many feel that the animals are just there to be there or for some harsh reason. They aren’t held captive but many people still feel that they are. Truly the animals are usually there to help another animal or because they are sick/injured. Though many feel they are held captive, they are really there for a good reason. There aren’t any problems but many seem to still feel there are. As humans, the thought is that they are here for us and here for our convenience.
In the end, there is a good reason that there are animals in the zoo. If anyone feels the animals are inhumane or held captive, well there really aren’t because they are really sick or injured. They also could be there to help and take care of the other animals. Zoos are taking care of the animals and they are in there for a good reason. The animals aren’t inhumane or held captive but “Living Like Larry” and getting well treatment. The animals might just need a little extra care or help and will hopefully be put back in the wild
Zoos across the world claim to be safe, suitable homes that replicate habitats of animals that are usually found in the wild. However, there is no possible way for wild habitats to be replicated well enough for animals in captivity to thrive, animals are often separated and withheld from living as they would in the wild. Despite their argument of being educational for visitors, the only thing they are teaching the public is that it is ok to take animals out of the wild and lock them up for their own enjoyment. Regardless of these claims, zoos are inhumane.
There have been many discussions about the welfare of animals since the first zoos were created. Some people agree that animals should be kept in zoo’s, they argue that it benefits the animals because their every need is catered to. However, in some zoo’s they are treated the exact opposite of being catered to. Sometimes the animals are also deprived of a natural environment that the zoo’s fail to recreate. However, zoo’s can be helpful educationally to kids. It gives them a close up on the beauty of the animals, but it comes at the animals expense.
Zoos have always been criticized because some claim that animals are being abused and mistreated due to the lack and care of certain zoos. However, zoos actually help many animals with research and are critically important for conservation purposes. People need to understand that zoos have programs that breed endangered animals as well as rescue programs for exotic animals that people are no longer able to support. Also, they have many hands on activities that allow people to get more connected to animals. In addition, zoos do not only focus on animals. They focus on environmental problems/concerns as well. Zoos help us stay educated about environmental impacts and animal care.
Animals kept in zoos has always been a controversial decision. Zoos have been around for 4,000 years. Many people argue about the impact a zoo has on an animal and the world. According to the article, ”Zoos: The Historical Debate”, “Some people argue that zoos play an important role in conservation of endangered animals, others say that zoos do more harm than good.” I believe that zoos play an important role in conservation. They also educate us about animals. Finally, zoos entertain us in many ways. In my opinion, zoos impact the world in a good way.
Zoos take giant roles to protect animals. In the magazines I read, "The Stripes Will Survive", and "The Zoos Go Wild," and the video that I watched called "Behind the Scenes with the National Zoo's Lion Cubs.", there are ways that they help the animals.
Some people go to zoos to see the wild animals, but that’s not all that they are for. People in groups such as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) may think that zoos cannot provide the needs to wild animals as the wild can. Zoos help animals. They have improved, helping to repopulate species and save animals in the wild.
As claimed in the LCA article, ”Animals in zoos are forced to live in artificial, stressful, and downright boring conditions”(User, Super). Evidence shows time to time that animals are being affected by zoos. There are many things hidden behind the facilities, that many people do not know about. The animals are being held in conditions that no animal should ever live in. Even though some zoos do focus on helping the animals, they are not as beneficial to the animal because they are not provided with the proper care and attention they need and zoos do not try to fix their problems.
Zoos may seem fun to visit and exciting to see the animals; but what you don’t see is the suffering and depression that lies in these helpless creatures. There are many arguments whether or not zoos are good or bad, and if they should be removed or kept. Several think that zoos should be abolished or at least very much improved, due to animal cruelty. While, others want zoos to stay because it is beneficial for the animals and people. I strongly believe that zoos aren’t good for both the public and animals for numerous reasons.
There have been a lot of problems with animals in zoos. It has gotten to the point where zoos are hated and looked upon as a places of animal torture. Are zoos really that bad? Turns out, they are. They do not have enough space, they do not allow the animals to communicate with each other, and they sell the animals to cruel circuses.
It’s human nature to have compassion towards animals and an instinct to react if they are abused or mistreated. This human nature is the foundation to the controversial topic of whether zoos are ethical to have. With this issue, there are various reasons that promote the importance of zoos along with reasons to why they can be considered immoral. Both sides are essentially equal and fighting for the same result, the well-being of the animal both physically and mentally. It’s difficult to determine which side is right, but I believe that zoos are beneficial to not only humans but the animals as well.
Reason one zoos could intervene the animal's lifestyle and how they live. Animals live freely, but when we take them, they become sad. If a zoo took a mother animal what if the animals, had babies and the babies would die because they would not be able to defend them self. The animal could be fed something it should not eat then the animal could die.
Zoos give us the chance of seeing some of the most endangered species on earth, which might otherwise be a once in a lifetime opportunity. But if it means that the animals don’t get the life that they deserve, should we be visiting them, paying, or enjoying it, just to see animals in captivity? Some places allow animals to roam freely about their zoo, but most don’t. Many zoos force animals to stay behind bars their entire life, and lots of babies are born in captivity. However, some people may argue that although animals are being held captive, animals don’t feel the same way as us, so we can’t compare it to how a human might feel in those circumstances. Also, people want to be able to see some of the rarest and most endangered species on
Although animals that live and stay in zoos, get medical attention, fed on a regular schedule, and protection from predators and hunters, we should keep many animals out of zoos because they are isolated from other animals, not able to chose their own mates, and are limited to “roaming” space.
As a child, the zoo was one of my favorite places to be. The ability to see wild animals in my local area is so convenient for me, but not so convenient for the animals living there. My opinion on zoos have most definitely changed when I put myself in the position of these animals in captivity. Animals are constantly going through pain and suffering by being behind bars, being separated from their family and not being able to live how they would in the wild. They are taken miles away from their natural habitat, and people expect them to adapt to environments that they are not used to. The average zoo exploits the animals in their care, and disregards many things that animals go through. Even though there are many benefits to zoos, they are more harm than good for animals. People should not be locking up animals who do not need to be saved in the first place.
Zoos give animals the opportunity to live a longer life than they probably would in the woods, the public, or the forest where there is predators in every nook and cranny. Zoos also treat their animals with kindness and love rather more than the public does. Zoos also give animals a cage or a domain so the animals can have their own space and doesn't have to share their home with other animals but that doesn't mean zoos don't let the animals family members live or go in the same cage or domain as them cause they do. Zoos also walk their animals around or let them go in a more open and fun space to relax and to explore the new places they can go. Now also zoos give animals toys to play so there not bored stuck in a cage all day looking at the humans who sometimes just stare at them for hours watching, listening, and learning about their
