This text talks about Cecil the beloved lion getting killed, murder to some people, by an American Dentist. Cecil the lion had a pretty good life, better than most humans. The United States is reacting to the “Cecil killing” story much differently from a lot of Americans, especially as someone who actually grew up dealing with dangerous wildlife on a regular basis. Nzou lived in a village where he and his family were surrounded by different kinds of dangerous wildlife. Palmer, the American dentist, has been accused in an illegal hunt and kill that occurred just a few months ago in a national park located in Zimbabwe. He had shot and killed the nation’s beloved black mane beauty named Cecil the lion. The Palmer had skinned the lion and took its head for a prize. Ever since the killing of the lion the internet has been in an uproar with people calling Palmer a monster and a criminal. …show more content…
Nzou and his village was warned many times to never walk to school alone, they much walk in groups. They were not allowed to play outside, people no longer went alone to the river to collect water or wash clothes. So, when Cecil the lion was killed Nzou’s home village were cheerful about the situation, due to how much harm was caused on families living within the village. Everyone has a different perspective when it comes to this situation. Much people who did not have to deal with this kind of wildlife in their everyday lives thought of the dentist has a bad guy. Those who did deal with these dangerous animals were pleased like the people in Zimbabweans. Cecil’s death has been greeted with outrage on many kinds of social media such as; Facebook, twitter, and

Evidence In the article it begins to explain the episodes beginning to happen due to the cause of the death. From the actions of the Dr.
A little over a year ago there was a public outcry over the death of an African lion by the name of Cecil. Cecil was an alpha male who lived in a national park in Zimbabwe. He was a popular animal for park visitors and was tracked by the wildlife

As the human population is increasing, Florida Panthers are decreasing. In the past, Native Americans would kill panthers for their coat, teeth, meat, and for medical uses (Alderson, pg. 23). There have also been several human-panther encounters where humans have tried to kill the panther. It is noted that panthers never try to come after individuals (Alderson, pg. 18). However; individuals still feel as if they are in danger when they are in contact with a panther. People also feel the need to harass and mess with Florida Panthers. With an increasing population, there are more people harming these animals. There have been several actions taken to prevent these occurrences from reoccurring. To avoid the amount of panthers being killed by humans there is laws in place that punishes people that bother, hurt, wound, agitate, or eradicate Florida Panthers (Alvarez, pg. 198). When an individual sees a panther they should not harm it; instead they should admire its
In Heather Wilhelm’s “Cecil the Lion and America’s Broken Outrage Meter,” written in 2015, the killing of Africa’s most beloved lion is discussed and tried. Cecil the Lion is one of Zimbabwe’s most famous animals and is located on his own natural preserve. Dr. Walter James Palmer, dentist from Minnesota, hired a group of “professional guides” to assist him in the hunting of the king of the jungle. Palmer says he did not know of Cecil the lion and only wanted to sportily hunt the animal, not to cruelly murder him. This controversy has been going on for over 3 months now on what really happened and who is responsible for the bloodshed of the famous lion. Celebrities such as Sharon Osbourne, Jimmy Kimmel, and even PETA themselves have suggested
After a few days of African Americans writing their "WHAT ABOUT US" articles, Rev Al Sharpton join in, of course once again Al is a follower who's pretending to be a leader.
In general, the researchers found that the participants were willing to act in support of panther recovery, had a positive perception of conservation, supported management efforts for panther recovery, had a low perceived
The dwindling population of these majestic creatures was falling steadily, and it only accelerated when Palmer fatally shot Cecil. The fine for killing an endangered species was very large, and people faced jail time for crimes similar to this caliber. Palmer, however, evaded this charge and presided in his home following the incident. Again, if Palmer was rightfully charged, most of the community backlash would be no more, and he would be free of his public burden. Cecil’s death also sparked a cascade of deaths within his
Remember Cecil the Lion? A lot of people were shocked, even outraged, when they heard about his death at the hands of an American hunter in 2015. The response to the lion’s death was so strong that the guy who shot Cecil basically went into hiding until he issued an apology. Our society reacts with horror when we hear about a majestic lion being shot or sacks of kittens being tossed into rivers, or owners training their dogs to fight each other for sport. However, what is the difference between killings Cecil and killing a duck, deer, cow, pig, or a chicken? How do we reconcile the strong feelings many of us have about certain animals, mainly the cute ones like kittens and puppies, with the way we actual use animals in our own lives?
That had happened so fast that the lion limped off but in the morning Patterson followed the blood trail, and then he found the huge beast dead and he had saved the men but there was the other lion and after he killed both of them and all of the remaining men were all happy and they also finished the railway and then they all went back to their country’s.
This speech was given in the UN, to tell adults and people all around the world to change their ways of living, save the countless animals dying across the world because they have nowhere left to go, children who are in a poverty and dying from hunger and the next generation that is still yet to come. Severn Suzuki describes the ethos by telling people's her own personal story which claims that the “animals are in danger they are slowly getting extinct”. She is not only speaking for herself and the people who are sitting there, she is speaking for all the people who are living all around the world, present generation and the next generation. She also appeals to pathos by striking straight to the emotions and admitting with all the people who are there “Here you maybe delegates of your government, Business people, organizers, journalist or politicians, but really your mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles and all of you are someone’s child”.
Cecil the Lion were part of many endangered species. It is a major crime to kill animals that are endangered. Palmer knew that Cecil was a special lion to the National Parks. Walter Palmer lured Cecil out of captivity, and he maliciously killed Cecil. Palmer also put Cecil’s cubs in danger.
In the book, sometimes you have to hurt or kill for the better. First, recently in the news, there was a silverback gorilla that “was shot dead by a Cincinnati Zoo sharpshooter to protect the 3-year-old boy who had suddenly fallen into
The author uses pathos to get people to feel sympathy for the family in the village who lost their son when he got mauled by a lion. This quote greatly supports the author's purpose for writing this article. Finally he supports this claim asserting people are too ignorant to make a feasible claim about the situation. He uses diction and parallel structure to appeal to pathos when stating, “Don’t tell us what to do with our animals when you allow your own mountain lions to be hunted to near extinction in the eastern United States. Don’t bemoan the clear-cutting of our forest when you turn yours into concrete jungles.” The author uses parallel structure when repeating, “Don’t “ to emphasise his overall point. He also uses diction to assert his claim when he uses the words, “extinction, bemoan, and concrete jungles”. He specifically used these words to get us to feel the injustice about how the Americans are acting about Cecil’s death. Overall, Nzou combines his condemnatory and critical tone with these appeals to effectively point out to the people who are “crying” about Cecil’s death that lions are harmful to people and killing lions happens all the time in the area. This article would be informative to the public who are outraged about Cecil’s death and
When a Minnesota dentist killed a prized African lion named "Cecil" he received an onslaught of criticism and reignited the debate concerning hunting. I hunt. I have hunted for years and I don't see anything wrong with it. The reasons I hunt are for the meat, I think it tastes better than store-bought meat and it doesn't have any additives in it, and for the time I get to spend out in the mountains. However, there are some people who are against hunting.
