Why Did Japan Attack Indochina

On December 7, 1941, early in the morning Japan attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor. Nobody expected this. Japanese planes destroyed approximately 20 American naval vessels, and nearly 300 airplanes. 2000 American people were killed, and more than 100 injured.

Japan had many reasons behind their attack. First reason is their nationalistic and conceited mindset. They believed that Japan is the fountain source of the Yamato race and saw themselves greater than the rest of the Asian race (document A). Japan subjects believed that they had to be loyal to the emperor because of the imperial Throne

For example, there are many economic issues. Japan's yearning to expand into Eastern Asia, anger and resentment because of the Treaty, and the political side of wanting to ensure the U.S. military's downfall (Document C). Japan attacked the U.S. military by bombing. They did this because they believed it was a good way to destroy their military. This was basically because of how they wanted to rule out their problems.

There are several reasons why Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, however, the goal and the reason of the attack are announced to be mismatched. Previously, before striking Hawaii, Japan already had been attacking few countries in Asia and even colonizing those countries. It was a great success for Japan. As they succeeded in colonizing, they needed an increased need for steel, oil, minerals, etc, which lead them to seek for natural resources. Japan was desperate for natural resources due to their goals, which was expanding their lands in Asia and the Pacific. However, the most important reason that cause Japanese to attack Hawaii was the ban that was settled with President Roosevelt on the trade of oil, steel, and iron. This ban of resources gave negative effects to the Japanese economy and unfortunately, it gave a set back to the military as well. The Japanese were on their process of being the strongest navy and having the power. But the Americans blocked their passage, which made the Japanese want to fight over their obstacle- the Americans. Japan had already taken over most lands in Asia, and they were eager to take over the entire Asia but the Americans didn’t allow them

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a tragic event which occurred on December 7, 1941. As some call it, this was the awakening of the sleeping giant. World War 2 had already started and the US had attempted to stay neutral but as Japan dropped bombs over the island of Oahu on the US naval base the US was sent straight into war. Japan was upset and angry and the US for the things they have been doing lately so they finally got tired of it and they dropped bombs on Pearl Harbor.

Japan attacked the Pearl Harbor. Japan and United States had been edging towards war for decades because U.S. was unhappy about the way Japan treated China. Nobody believed Japan would actually start war ,but on December 7 ,1941 just before 8 am Japanese fighter planes attacked Pearl Harbor on Hawaii. The day after the assault president Franklin D. Roosevelt asked congress to declare war against Japan.

The first reason they attack Pearl Harbor is because they needed resources. It is clear that Japan needed resources therefore, they attack Pearl Harbor so U.S won’t get in the way. On the morning of December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, the Imperial Japanese Navy bombed the United States’ naval base. Leaving their aircraft carriers, the first flow of Japanese warplanes struck Pearl Harbor. After two hours of bombings, the Japanese warplanes greatly damaged over 350 aircrafts and approximately 18 ships, including all 8 battleships of the Pacific Fleet. This attack resulted in over 3,500 American casualties and ignited a burst of outrage in the U.S. population, media, regime, and along with the rest of the world.

About two hours and they destroyed about 20 Americans bases and also they destroyed eight battle ships. They also damage about 300 airplanes they killed 2000 American soldiers. It was an horrible war and most of all it was the worst war.

This made the dislike of each other (Japan and the U.S) worsen. This caused the United States to making an embargo on shipping materials to Japan. Though japan continued to consult with the U.S up to the day of the pearl harbor attack, the government Prime minister Tojo Hideki decided on war.

The attack was carried out by the Japanese. After the attack, America declared war on Japan, thus putting us in World War II. Japan dropped many, many bombs that killed US soldiers and families. The bombs destroyed US equipment that was stationed at Pearl Harbor.
