On December 7,1941 just before 8 a.m. on a U.S naval base near Hawaii. The Japanese forces surprise attacked our U.S naval base. Hundreds of Japanese fighter planes destroyed nearly 20 American naval vessels, 8 battleships, and over 300 airplanes. Over 2,400 Americans died in this attack and 1,000 people were wounded. This made the dislike of each other (Japan and the U.S) worsen. This caused the United States to making an embargo on shipping materials to Japan. Though japan continued to consult with the U.S up to the day of the pearl harbor attack, the government Prime minister Tojo Hideki decided on war.
