During the duration of my college education I plan on taking classes that would help me attain a career in law enforcement. I have chosen to pursue in this career path because I've always relish what police officers and lawyers have accomplished in the world. While still following the appointed laws they also help people in a verity of ways like getting people of perilous situations, while they also in ways shape the minds of the future. It's a considerable amount of satisfaction to be able to partake in a widespread impact towards the community. While the police are protecting the society there are selected group of people who have an astronomical passion for helping people understand and obtain their constitutional rights. As a person who appreciates both professions, I hope that someday I will …show more content…
I plan on applying my dedication to the clients I one day hope to represent the same why I apply my self to further me education. Someday I hope that I will be able to better the world in some sort of way, like helping to save the economy or being able to get food and other supplied to the third world countries that are in need of help. All of these can be accomplished if I just set my mind to them and by helping and supporting the local and or global organizations. While gaining the knowledge that I have today I have meet a lot of law enforcement officers law lawyers that have made some sort of positive impact on my life, some by reassuring my safety and some by reminding me that I have rights and giving me strength to use those rights to better the environment and society. It would be prestigious honor to be able to do the same to a child out there and show them that they belong and make sure that they know they can always count on people who want to help and protect
With all the jobs out there in the world, how does anyone decide what they want to do with their lives? Most of the time this is the first question young people ask themselves when they are trying to figure out what they want to major in at college. This question caused me a lot of confusion about my possible future career. The career I finally choose, like many other young adults, was law enforcement, to be a police officer. In the following paragraphs, I will describe the reasons for my choice, along with the effects that my education and training have on my goal of becoming a police officer.
To a majority of society, law enforcement officers are viewed as the protectors of society. Due to the fact that officers provide a service to the community they could be placed in a position
Law enforcement is a career that is both violent and rewarding in many capacities. Justice needs to be served in law enforcement and they have a responsibility to uphold the law and serve the people in the community. Law enforcement is crucial in the world today as a global realm as life continues to be more complex and law enforcement struggles to combat many aspects of crime. In order to combat these problems and have a positive future in the criminal justice system, everyone must work together on a bigger scale.
Throughout history, there has been very few careers that require such a high degree of an ethical standard such as the one required for law enforcement. There is, however, a multitude of careers that require the dedication and heart such as required for a police member. Where this dedication and heart differs relies solely on the difference in the job. Officers are required to be aware of their surroundings nearly all the time as if something were to happen they would be required to navigate through the situation successfully. Somebody such as a CEO for a multimillion dollar company would not require this same quality due to the fact it is not part of their job description and the only individual that he/she needs to be worried about is themselves. However, in today’s society, and with media being an ever growing aspect, some police officers have decided on their own personal way to handle justice. So unfortunately, this small percentage of police contract a huge amount of negative eyes to the profession. This small number of individuals bring a negative view to the police department as a whole and for this cause an issue in the public’s eye. Regardless of what many individuals believe, many of the police officers decide on the ethical side of the job and are hardworking professionals who seek out to just serve the public. However, being an African American male myself the main issue I have and want to combat is the punishment officers should face if
My only intentions are to become a responsible adult with making wise decisions that will not only benefit myself but the community around me. I really enjoy communicating towards people and seeing how I can help with my community. My family has been very supportive of my behave so I would be given the opportunity to get to where I am now. Knowing I have support me a strive to want to give back, to not only them, but the people that walk amongst us. When the time comes to paying my bills, debt being paid off from student loans or home payments, and building a good credit after years of experience in the field of law, it will be all worth it at the end of the day, I only hope it encourages and presents as a good example to show my legacies that if you want to be something great , you must pursue it with patience and diligence. The knowledge from paying attention in class today will be well used in situations of how to handle predicaments and debates on different views and learning about the basic requirements as a student learning in the
Have you ever asked yourself what it would be like to become a police officer. Becoming a police officer isn’t an easy take because they have to risk their life everyday to protect and serve the community. They have to go through the dangers of arresting criminals when there is a chance that they could die. However, in today’s society only a small amount of police officers actually serve their community and protect citizens from danger. Right now, most police officers abuse their power to the point where they don’t seem to care for the safety of the community. They would usually arrest innocent people, make accusations, and even use their power as a source to show their dominance. If you think about, whenever you are stuck in traffic some
Entering the career of law enforcement is not always easy. Becoming a Police Officer means that I would become a justified employee of the police force. As a Police Officer, I would typically be responsible for placing criminals under arrest, looking for crimes and preventing them before they can happen, protecting the community and it's property and many other things. It is not an easy job at all, Police work can be stressful and dangerous because there is a constant possibility of being injured or killed every day, but it is definitely worth it in the end. Even though those were clear examples, being a Police Officer alone would just be saving someone’s life. Enforcing the law saves peoples lives, and that is exactly what I would be doing. Everything that I would do would be preventing something that could have been fatal.

Based on the ethical and professional practices of each of the branches, the law enforcement career path is most in line with my ethical beliefs and professional disposition. I feel I have a high code of ethics of what is right and wrong while it may
When I was a high schooler, I always wanted to help the community. I wanted to be more than a volunteer for the communities, I wanted a job that I could prevent crimes and help to make a difference. “ we thought we could change the world, we are the protector of the peace. We define the odds and criticisms..” This is what a police officer had said during a YouTube video talking about the Los Angeles Police
Criminal justice and Psychology are one of most needed majors in this world and they are so alike and different at the same time. Most High school students tend to choose the criminal justice major because it's an easier way out of college because they can just attend the police academy. Psychology tends to overwhelm and tire the individual due to the stress that they go through to find a remedy for their clients. Choosing college majors come from the very thought of the things that have to be done, the requirements needed and the salary amount for each major.
After college, I plan to become a law enforcement officer, most likely with the Delaware State Police. I believe that working in law enforcement is an excellent way to help my community and interact with people in a positive way, while improving others’ lives. Especially in light of the fact that the criminal justice system has been under fire in recent years, I am hopeful that as an officer, I can help to show the world that the police are still there to help the community, rather than to hurt it. In preparation for a career in law enforcement, I am involved in the Explorers program with the Delaware State Police, which is an organization for high school students to become familiar with and learn about a career path of interest. After gaining some law enforcement experience, I am also considering applying to a federal agency, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation or the Secret
Law enforcement, in some form, has existed for centuries and since its creation there has been numerous improvements. Improvements have come about because of community changes and the need for more effective ways of policing the people. As crimes became more fierce and complex so did the need for the investigation and solving of these crimes. Criminal investigative techniques were not just born from thin air, some thought and planning had to go into figuring out the proper ways to go about doing things. Pioneers of the criminal justice and criminal investigation field such as August Vollmer, Alphonse Bertillon, Edward Henry, and Edmond Locard have made superior contributions to the development of criminal investigative techniques. These techniques have impacted the way police operate today and set a substantial base for law enforcement to build on.
Growing up is exciting and very scary. Being young is fun while it last but eventually everyone has to grow and go in to the working field. Law enforcement has been a big topic whether it be bad or good things said the law enforcement is always brought up. When I was young I took a fast interest in business. The moment I decided I wanted to be a cop was when I met my dad’s best friend that was a cop, and businessman. All any person wants in a career is to make a decent living and do something that they enjoy doing. I’ve always enjoyed helping people that needed help, the Kansas career pipeline let me take some surveys and showed me that I enjoy helping people more than I enjoy building myself something, which I believe that is true.
Before going into college to study Criminal Justice, I had the same opinion as most people had when it came to criminals or deviant behavior. The classic “if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime,” phrase was mentioned many times throughout my youth, whether it be for something as simple as an explanation for grounding me or to explain why doing the wrong things will give you a one-way ticket to prison. My life was surrounded by crime. I managed to separate myself from the “wrong-doers” with the help of my mother, but I still spent most of my life around law enforcement. To me, police officers were always the ones doing everything right. In my mind, if someone died at the hands of a police officer it was probably their fault, if they were beaten they deserved it, the police were only doing what they had to do to make our communities a safer place.
