I am interested in this scholarship for a variety of reasons both personally and financially. I currently live in a single parent home that won't be able to help me financially when I pursue my future career. The career I want to pursue in the future is in honor of my grandpa, Chuck Storing, who was never able to become the doctor he hoped to become due to financial and family issues that followed him after high school. I have worked two jobs simultaneously throughout high school to save up money for myself. Along with constantly putting school first no matter how hectic or busy my life got. My whole life I have always set goals for myself and never gave up on them until they were fully achieved. I strive each and everyday to make my family
I believe I should be awarded this scholarship because it takes a lot of courage to apply for these scholarships. It’s hard knowing that there are millions of other kids that could be applying for this scholarship as well and it’s tough trying to prove why I should be awarded. I think it’s difficult for anyone to write why they should be awarded this scholarship because we all are applying for the same reasons. The insane cost of college is what we’re trying to work to lower this is due to people paying for it themselves, parents paying for it, and just trying to limit the amount of loans you’ll have to pay back after. I know by saying this is bit risky but, I would like to be awarded this scholarship to help my parents with paying for college.
I believe that I should receive a scholarship, because it would give me something else I should fight for and strive to get. It will give me something to challenge myself with. I feel like if I work hard and get these scholarships, it can show people that as long as you work hard for what you want, there is a high chance that you will achieve it. I feel like if I was given a scholarship it would help me get really far in collage life without worry about paying off loans.
I'd like to get this scholarship because i'm a very hard worker once I get my mind set on it, I work at the Roseau Hospital in food service and I absolutely love it! I get to see the residents that's always the best part of my day.
There are a million reasons why everyone else entering this scholarship should win, and a million different reasons that each and every one of us could benefit from this scholarship. However, before you rule me out, I ask that you hear my reasoning for needing this scholarship. Throughout high school, I have been actively involved in volleyball, basketball, and track, where I have competed at the state level in all three sports. I have also been in Student Council, National Honor Society, Pep Club, FCA, 4-H, and I was elected class president all four years of high school. On top of all of this, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes since the age of 3. As you can imagine with being a full time student athlete, being involved in different clubs, and coaching my own pee wee
I believe I should receive this scholarship because I do not have the best ACT score and my parents make just enough to pass the limit for financial aid. ACT scores decide if you can even apply for many scholarships. I tried my hardest the many times I have taken it but with test anxiety it will always be tough. I could use any money I get because $80,000 a year stretched for the 5 people in my family is hard. University of Kentucky is my dream school I will do anything in my power to attend and to pay for as much as
Like a lot of students applying for these scholarships, I do not come from the most fortunate family. I was raised by a single mother. My mother did everything in her power to keep us afloat in this rough world, including attending a community college to become a licensed practical nurse while having a child at home. All my mother ever asked of me was to stay out of trouble and keep my grades up so I can attend a good college. I knew that if I did not gain a scholarship to a school, she would have to pay out of pocket for college. I could not put that burden on her shoulders because I knew she could not afford it. With that motivation, I worked hard through all my years of school to make the best grades possible. I managed to make my mother proud by being an honor graduate from a predominantly white high school, making 24 on the ACT, and earning a full scholarship to Alcorn State University to major in biology.
I want to live a life where I can benefit others. My desire to be a physician is part of that, but becoming a member of the National Honor Society can help me grow to achieve more—as a community member and as a world citizen. I am excited by the prospect of learning to work as a team, manage projects and make friends through service, and I would like the opportunity to develop more leadership skills.
This scholarship should be awarded to me because I plan on putting it to full use. I won't simply take this money for granted I understand that if it is givent to me I have to work hard every step of the way. I am a senior in high school aiming to attend a 4- year university in order to take a pre- medicine program, major in biology and minor in psychology. Later i will apply to a medical school and do an intership at a local hospital. All of this I plan to do so that I may become a pediatric
I believe the traits one looks for in a recipient are something a person begins building early in life. I am a tinker, an analyst, and above all, I am unique. I know I have enough confidence in my academic discipline and passion to fill the entire Allen E. Paulson Stadium, in theory. I know that I am a driven young woman who has dreams, goals, and aspirations of becoming successful in the field of all things computer related. I am aware I have made the decision to pursue a career in one of the toughest fields for women - Engineering. Pursuing that field means one day I’ll be building drones for the military, as always imagined. Since I cannot financially afford to attend Georgia Southern University on my own, receiving a scholarship will greatly assist me in achieving my goals.
There are times in life that you must pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and continue on the beaten path. I have had to do this countless times and in some instances, I thought it would be my last. On the surface, I’m applying for this scholarship with the intention of using it to help pay my college tuition. To a much deeper extent, obtaining this scholarship would aid in my redemption as a student and consequently validate the choice to continue my education. Academically speaking, I was born with the talent to stand toe-to-toe with the best and the brightest. I participated in numerous academic decathlons, competitions, and was a member of different academic honor societies. School was easy for me, but later in life I found out
I believe this scholarship should be awarded to me because I am a very hard worker, and once I set my mind to something I get it done. Going to college is something I have been working hard for and will continue to work hard for once I start. I have focused very hard to get where I am today and think that is something that should be awarded. Winning this scholarship will help college be more affordable for me and my
I need this scholarship in order to lift my financial burden, and in doing so, I will be able to focus on accomplishing my dream of saving the
Truth be told, I waited until I was absolutely sure what profession I intended on entering before going to college. As I was about to hit my early twenties, I could not fathom the thought of going into debt or wasting money hopping from one major to another like many of my friends were doing. Unfortunately, during this time of pondering indecisions about my future I got into a little trouble that landed me with a Class B Misdemeanor for which I served one year of deferred adjudication. During this year I had plenty time to think about my actions and my future while I worked to pay my fine, completed community service, took court appointed classes and reported to my probation officer. Though this was not a good time in my life, it was a major eye opener to me as far as where I saw myself in the future. I took every aspect of my deferred adjudication very seriously because I knew with a simple twist of fate the end result could have been far worse. I decided though I was disappointed in my actions and the result, my experience was one I could use to better myself and also help others. I had found my purpose in life in the drive to help others through their rehabilitation and the
My educational goals include achieving an engineering degree and also looking into a doctorate. This scholarship will help me achieve my goals to give me that boost towards my 8 years in college and not having to struggle as much financially. A time when hard work paid off was during the freshman orientation day at my school. I am a member of our Link Crew program and we spent 10 hours and 8 more that day working to make sure that these freshmen were getting the best out of their first day of school. Having worked, the freshmen were opening up to their new school and were definitely more outgoing then they were before we spent the time that we did with them. I volunteer with my youth group and we help out the public as much as we can. This
I believe that I deserve this scholarship because I would make the most of it. What I mean by that is I would take away as much knowledge and skills provided to me. After graduating high school, I quickly realized that life is not a stroll in the park, opportunities don’t walk up to you on a silver platter. I’m now aware that at the time I wasn’t mature enough to take on that much independence. Over time I became more comfortable with taking the initiative of doing things on my own and utilizing the resources I have. I used those skills I gained over time to look into returning school, what degree I wanted to pursue, and how I planned on succeeding. Finding help financially for school is one of the first steps. With the award of this scholarship
