I am Christian St. Germain, a Junior at Hot Springs High School, the school you went to, looking into your legacy and the negatives and positives of your presidency. As a person, I have always admired you, and I could not care less about the sex scandal. As a president, through all your trials and tribulations, you did well for the country. I watched a documentary in my English class on your rise and fall, and it interested me. I, like you, have always tried to participate in a lot of extracurricular activities. I actually had some family that knew you back in high school. I’m not sure if they knew you personally, or if they just knew of you, but I think that is cool. I by no means am aspiring to be president. It is too much pressure, but I do want to leave a legacy.
You entered the presidency with certain expectations. You were governor, but the license plate taxes killed any chance of your re-election, and Frank White used that against you. But you never gave up. You ran again after that and was re-elected. You eventually ran for president and won your first try! You dealt with a lot during your years as president, being a

Everyone does. Not in a way that everyone looks back and says, “Man, that guy did great for the country.” I want to be remembered for who I am as a person, not for what I did. I try to be the best person I can be, so I am always nice to others. I give advice. I try to be someone that will be remembered, like you were, for the good or the bad, I am not to say. I’d love to meet you someday because as far as the public was concerned, you were loved. Adored. You made it through the scandal, and the Congress couldn’t deal with the fact that the public trusted you, so they impeached you. I give you my condolences for what happened, but like the true “Comeback Kid” you did indeed, come back. I would love for you to visit us, and meet you in person. I would enjoy meeting the real William Jefferson
There is a Historical list of reasons why I am a Democrat. The Democratic Party believes in a healthy administration, the elevation of the community and social responsibility. It is very same the party that took a stand for the jobs & economy, gay rights, civil rights, health care, Social Security, unions, and women's rights. The Democratic Party also home to the most iconic and influential presidents that would forever leave their mark on American history such as Barack Obama, John F. Kennedy, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Day by day the Democratic Party fights in House and in U.S. Senate to push forward important reforms that are often in the face of Republican rejection. Through the years the American people have turned to Democrats to
He had a very strong, energetic personality. He was extremely tenacious, hardworking, and optimistic. He was always determined to do what he could, and he was dedicated to his job. He had a long-lasting impression on people, with his easygoing nature and his tendency to crack jokes at opportune times. He never seemed to run out of energy. His powerful personality leaked into his presidency as well - he unashamedly threw his policies and theories into the faces of his fellow countrymen. He was always active and full of life. Because of this, he made a very passionate and tireless president.

It is amazing to know how a person’s reputation is important! It is interesting to know how many important people can easily lose their reputation. Senator Richard Nixon did something unique after being accused of stealing money from a campaign fund. This accusation was heard everywhere and General Dwight Eisenhower was about to make a decision in dropping Nixon from his choice for Vice President. Richard Nixon then delivered a thirty minute speech instead of trying to clear his name in going to interviewers and journalists; the speech Richard Nixon gave, saved his career and it also took him beyond congress. It is good to hear that his speech worked and making his speech the top sixth speeches of the 20th century. Probably Richard Nixon and his family went through hard and difficult times throughout the accusation but Richard Nixon and his family was very strong to overcome it.
For the case of discussing Gerald Ford, one of the most important events of his time as president is how he became one. After going into Republican politics at law school, he served in the House of Representatives for decades being re-elected twelve times. Even though he has never achieved his main goal of becoming speaker of the House, he was still supported by many, even including President Richard Nixon. In 1973, Spiro Agnew resigned the office of Vice President of the United States. When there was no Vice President left,“after pleading no contest to a change of income tax evasion, President Richard Nixon was empowered by the 25th Amendment to appoint a new Vice President” (Library 2). To explain,
When people think of Richard Nixon the Watergate scandal may come to mind. Impeachment might also come to mind, but contrary to popular thought he was never truly impeached. Notably, the only impeached presidents are Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Yet, Nixon has a strong public disapprobation. Most of Richard Nixon’s legacy remains surrounded by negativity, but is there anything positive or noteworthy regarding Nixon’s presidency? Due to the Watergate scandal, people tend to overlook many aspects of Richard Nixon, to include, his background, his actual involvement in Watergate, and his legacy.
In the light of the recent presidential election, I began to think about how qualified the people running were in comparison to me. After learning about both major party candidates, I came to the conclusion that I would probably make a better president than Donald Trump. I would not make a good president, which is why I would need to pick an advisor who could help me. As an advisor, I feel like Mengzi would work best for me because I would end up arguing with most of the others and getting nothing done. He would help me make decisions for the good of the people, such as giving them the materials needed to nurture their sprouts, which are what Mengzi calls the inherent goodness of human nature. Everyone needs, at minimum, somewhere warm to stay, good food and water, and access to proper healthcare. Mengzi would also advise me that if I am going to enjoy something, I also have to let my people enjoy it as well. So if I want to listen to music or read a book while I’m not working, my people should be able to do these things as well. Also, Mengzi would advise me in the solution that helps the most people when I am faced with a difficult decision. Rather than instructing me to find the easy way out, he would make sure that I know the difference between what I can’t do and what I don’t want to do in a given situation. Finally, he would expect me to lead by showing my people an example of benevolence that people will most likely follow because they also have compassion in their
Clinton Rossiter starts off talking about how no american can think about the presidency without feeling somewhat serious and humility. He thinks you should be serious about how historic and unique it is. But humility in the thought that he got a say in who was in power of our country. He admires the presidents for their strong and powerful leadership qualities.
Imagine the U.S with an economy that was the worst since the Great Depression, a major political scandal that had caused the president to resign and now you are the president without ever being elected. Everyone is looking to you to fix their country. These are just some of the opticals he was faced with. Gerald Ford was born on July 14, 1913 in Nebraska. He later changed his name from Leslie Lynch to Gerald Ford. Ford was also an outstanding Football player who got many scholarships from colleges but he chose to go down a different path he went to Yale to teach boxing and later to become a lawyer. A couple of years later Ford worked his way to becoming Vice President. Then when Nixon had resigned Ford took office in 1976. Book
Over the centuries, America has welcomed presidents from different backgrounds and political viewpoints. Most men who became presidents didn’t win their way in by mentioning what they wanted to accomplish but by displaying empathy and kindness to the citizens. Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson are two great examples of how they earned the citizens heart and support. However, their support and popularity didn’t assure their presidency would be a success which wasn’t as successful as their presidential vote victories.
Sworn to office as the thirty-seventh President of the United States, Richard Nixon took on the challenge of leading America during hard times. War overseas in sued and a divided nation was left back home. However, taking the issues at hand Nixon was able to stop wars in Viet Nam, improve relations with China, but was left forever stained with the great “Watergate Scandal.”
Theodore Roosevelt was one of our greatest presidents. He created the FDA and improved the position of the presidency greatly. Before Theodore came to be president, the position of presidency was slow and wasn’t very interesting so he made the executive branch more powerful by starting new reforms and a strong foreign policy. The life of a president is hard. It is full of stress, responsibilities, and a strong dedication the welfare of your country. Theodore had to deal with all of these presidential stresses, taking up much of his time. Do you know, though, that despite being a president, he led a life of excitement and freedom that many other presidents had never before experienced? Theodore, “Teddy” as his first wife Alice called him,
I would be honored to take the position of being student council president. There are qualities a president of student council should possess that I believe I have.
In the early years of his life, he suffered from poor health and enervating asthma, but that hadn’t stopped him from being an energetic and exuberant child, and these characteristics followed him well into adulthood. He had been a National Guard veteran, the governor of New York City, the assistant secretary of the U.S. Navy, and had taken other high-ranking occupations. (Britannica). His political proficiency, along with his zealous personality, made him a worthy candidate for the American presidency, and he won election in 1904.
