Zoos are terrible for the animals! There shouldn’t be zoos. Why shouldn’t there be zoos you ask, well let's go find out. There shouldn’t be zoos because, zoos do not really care about the animals. For example, some zoos sell animals when they become older and are not making as much money for the zoo, so the zoo can just go buy more animals to sell. Also, when they are sold people could be buying them to be Kill the animals. Next, when zoos take animals that are sick they never release them back into the wild where they can roam free in the real wild instead of fake ones where they just sit there all day well people look at them. Another reason there shouldn’t be zoos is because, they are not really educational. For example, they are basically
Zoos have always been criticized because some claim that animals are being abused and mistreated due to the lack and care of certain zoos. However, zoos actually help many animals with research and are critically important for conservation purposes. People need to understand that zoos have programs that breed endangered animals as well as rescue programs for exotic animals that people are no longer able to support. Also, they have many hands on activities that allow people to get more connected to animals. In addition, zoos do not only focus on animals. They focus on environmental problems/concerns as well. Zoos help us stay educated about environmental impacts and animal care.
Zoos have been around for 4,000 years, for many years people have gone to zoos to see wild animals up close. What people do not know is animals don't have the best interest in being in a zoo. The article, "Zoos: The Historical Debate" from Globalanimal.org discusses some pros (positive sides) and cons (negative sides) of zoos. As well as how millions of people visit zoos around the world and how some argue that zoos are either places of education and conversation or unnecessary prisons. After reading the article a logical conclusion is zoos are detrimental to animals.
Zoos may seem fun to visit and exciting to see the animals; but what you don’t see is the suffering and depression that lies in these helpless creatures. There are many arguments whether or not zoos are good or bad, and if they should be removed or kept. Several think that zoos should be abolished or at least very much improved, due to animal cruelty. While, others want zoos to stay because it is beneficial for the animals and people. I strongly believe that zoos aren’t good for both the public and animals for numerous reasons.
There have been a lot of problems with animals in zoos. It has gotten to the point where zoos are hated and looked upon as a places of animal torture. Are zoos really that bad? Turns out, they are. They do not have enough space, they do not allow the animals to communicate with each other, and they sell the animals to cruel circuses.
First of all, we should get rid of zoos because the animal have way less space. In the video Should Zoos Exist the author Mikaela Nilsson points out that polar bears have 1 million times less space when in zoos. This shows that zoos should not exist, Because big cats have 1,800 times less space as they would in the wild. This is not fair to the animals. So this is why we should get rid of zoos.
Have you ever been to the zoo? Don't you love to see all of the beautiful and exotic animals? I always loved seeing all the different reptiles, even though I’m terrified of snakes. Whenever I visit zoos, always in the back of my mind, I would think that this is wrong. Keeping animals locked up with no freedom whats-so-ever. Animals should be out in the wild, running free, and being themselves. They should not be caged up or should they be forced to perform for tricks just to prove that they can be taught to something for our our amusement. This is why I think all zoos should be shut down. If a person wants to see an exotic animal they should visit the animal’s habitat.
In my opinion, I think that there shouldn't be Zoos. I think there shouldn’t be Zoos because the animals are mistreated. The animals should be in the wild because that's their natural environment. Some Zookeepers don’t take care of the animals that live in the Zoos. That is why I believe that there shouldn’t be any Zoos.
Zoos provide protection for animals. Some hunters may kill animals in the wild for their skin so they can sell it. In a zoo, this can never occur. Another reason that zoos should not be banned is that animals are really looked after in the zoo. If an animal got sick in the wild nature there is no one to treat it and most probably the animal will suffer from pain and may even die. However, if the same case was in a zoo, highly qualified vets will be available to deal with this situation appropriately and these vets will provide medicine to the sick or injured
Most zoos now of days let just a few animals have six to seven acres of their own pain. If the animals really hated it there they would try to break out or leave because all there is between you and them is a little bit of fence or cage People should have zoos in this country because most of them need to learn more about the wildlife in this world that people are living in. First thing is that families and friends love zoos.
Are zoos actually doing us any good? By enclosing animals are we making them more endangered than before? Can we put an end to it? Zoos today are both a benefit and a hindrance to the animal society. By providing them with health care and food, we could be taking away their instincts as a wild animal. Although zoos can be beneficial, we should limit zoo activity because, zoos can change the behavior of an animal, breeding issues may occur, and the animals may not be able to return to the wild.
An essential part of a community, taken away. If zoos are eliminated, it’ll have a major impact on both animals and humans. The animals will face a harsh outcome, the economy will be damaged, and kids, teens and adults will miss out on a fun learning experience. The caged animals will not be able to survive life outside of their containment.
Think about it like this, what if someone came to your house and just took your child from you only to go and put them in a cage. You would be devastated right? Right, so just imagine how all of these animals must feel when zoo keepers come and take them out of the wild and away from their families. Animals are always taken out of the wild only to be taken back to the zoos and put in cages. Many people believe that zoos are a good thing, and that zoos actually do help out the endangered species and year some of that may be true but how would the we the people know. Zoos treat certain animals different depending on their cuteness or their age. Animals aren't allowed to learn what they would learn from their parents because zoos are too busy trying to control nature and make them learn certain things a certain way. Many ask where does the animals the zoo take in come from? How do the zookeepers take animals from the wild? How many animals are brought into the zoo each day and year? Is there any specific types of animals that can and cannot be in a zoo? Who take cares of what animals? All of these question are concerning the animals healths and/or their wellbeing. These animals shouldn’t be treated like this, this need to be stopped. Zoos should be discontinued.
Zoos hurt animals both physically and mentally, and they should be shut down. There are many cons to zoos which I will share later on. First I will give a background on zoos, Secondly, I will list the cons about them. Lastly, I will share some statistics and stories about zoos and why they should be shut
One hundred and forty two years ago in Philadelphia the first zoo opened in the United States. To this day it still runs and is a popular place for people all around the country to visit. As of 2017 there are 10,000 zoos running in America. Though Zoos are very popular people have been questioning whether they are a help to the animals or unjust. The answer to this question is they are a great thing for animals all over the world for many reasons. Some include the fact that they help with endangered species, take in injured animals, and take good care of the animals in their facilities.
Some people believe that zoos are useful for entertainment and educational purposes because they think zoos provide an excellent opportunity to see the wild animals in real without having to go to the jungle. However, others think that zoos must be completely eradicated because they believe it to be a very inhuman act. Banning zoos is a much-debated issue and I certainly agree that zoos should not exist in this century at all.
