The claim of the mission being impossible isn’t why the mission was prevented, it was but because rescuing victims wasn’t the priority. During the summer of 1944 American Air Forces were bombing oil and factory developments right next to Auschwitz, even flying over the railroads that were suggested as targets (Vanden). To use these aircrafts to also bomb the gas chambers or railroads would have been simple as they were in the area attacking similar structures. Even more so with the report from Vrba and Wetzler there was no confusion on the locations of where to strike. In dispute that this attack would not have been destructive for the Jews, at least the death procedures happening in Auschwitz would have been slowed down to some extent. Also
In conclusion, the Holocaust had detrimental effects on all that survived. This was because prisoners were treated as less than human and not given enough food. They also lost many of their loved ones, many of whom were executed. And to top it all off, they were abused by their captors on a regular basis. With these things happening, it’s no surprise that survivors of the Holocaust suffered terrible
couldʼve been saved if America had helped to end the Holocaust, but it chose to avoid
final solution will be remembered as a very important event that took place during the holocaust
Next, here are some ways that the Holocaust could maybe have been avoided. The main one is if Hitler did not rise to power, or get elected. Another one is if the United States or the allied powers had tried to prevent Hitler from becoming more powerful or had stopped him before he had already gained control of most of Europe. My Third way that the Holocaust could have been avoided is if the Jews had started a resistance movement when they were being moved into the ghettos. Maybe the Jews could have been rebels and stop the Germans by going on strike. Another way that the Holocaust could have been avoided is if countries like the United
“A large baseball stadium holds about 55,000 people. If everyone in that stadium were murdered, and if the stadium were filled up again five more times and all of those people were also murdered, what would still be less than the number of Jews killed at Chelmno alone.” (Feldman 220) Chelmno is the first extermination camp and the leading camp in the in-vans asphyxiation killing method that killed hundreds thousands of people in the Holocaust during World War II. Learning and understanding the holocaust, we would be able to know the brutality and inhumanity of the Nazi and to let it never happen again.
During the Holocaust the Jews were seen as creatures and treated as if they were creatures. When Moishe the Beadle came back from the forest where he was forced to dig holes by the Hungarians, He said he saw terrible scenes. Moishe said, “Infants were tossed into the air and used as targets for the machine guns.”(Wiesel 6), But the people of Signet didn’t believe Moishe, The jews that were in the camps probably could’ve avoided all the pain and suffering throughout their time in the camps. That quote proves that the Nazis did not care about the Jews and were doing it out of pure joy and following orders. That quote also showed to what low-level we can come down to.Living in the concentration camp meant your life could be taken away any second for any reason. The Nazis took lives that didn't matter to Jews but it could’ve meant the world for them.
The German Soldiers did many things to Jews, and it should have been stopped earlier than it did. The way that they treated the children and the prisoners were worse than what it ever should have been. “Get up! Roll call!” We stood. We were counted. We sat down. We got up again. Over and over. We waited impatiently to be taken away. What were they waiting for? Finally, the order came: “Forward! March!” (19). They were treated like dogs doing the same thing over and over, waiting for something good to happen, waiting to be taken away. Not caring about their lives is one thing, but they also did not care if it was just one person that messed up. Everyone would be killed if one person made
The Holocaust was an event that many would love to forget, lives would be altered forever, and many would come to realize the true ability
During the alienation of Jews during the Holocaust many of human rights were taken away as well as lives. In the beginning these innocent civilians were blind to what was going on. When finally everything made sense to them, their pride and dignity was being taken away from them within a blink of an eye. There was indeed consequences after the Holocaust to protect Jews as well as others; The Declaration of Human
Throughout 1944 many Jewish leaders, domestically and internationally, requested President Roosevelt to bomb Auschwitz’s gas chambers or the rail lines leading to the concentration camp. By November 1944 the report on Auschwitz from the two escapees, Rudolph Vrba and Alfred Wetzler, had reached Washington, DC informing the War Department on the exact setup of the concentration camp and the details of the procedures that took place there. This brought about the last round of appeals for a bombing of Auschwitz (Wyman, 287). The War Department, however, continued to refuse these suggestions time after
“Yet bombing a concentration camp filled with innocent, unjustly imprisoned civilians also posed a moral dilemma for the Allies. To be willing to sacrifice innocent civilians, one would have had to perceive accurately conditions in the camp and to presume that interrupting the killing process would be worth the loss of life in Allied bombings. In short, one would have had to know that those in the camps were about to die. Such information was not available until the spring of 1944.” (Berenbaum).
The camp came to an end in 1945 and it was such a relief for Eliezer and the Jews,Unfortunately Eliezer father passed away January 29th 1943.The Nazis and Hitler could have handled the situation a lot better than they did.The Nazis and Hitler could have let the germans stay with their families and let them be together and love each other instead of breaking them apart and making them suffer mentally because they didn’t know what was going to happen to their loved ones. While the Jews were in camp they could have been given enough clothing to keep warm instead of letting them suffer and get sick from the cold,The Germans had warm clothing therefore the Jews should have had warm clothing as well. The Jews should have been given more meals during
Could the Holocaust Have Been Avoided? The Holocaust was a very sorrowful, traumatic time that took place during 1933 to 1945. In total there were 17 million victims, 6 million of the were Jews, but it is commonly mistaken that Hitler and the Nazi just came for Jews. No, Hitler and his army came for anyone they could find.
The Holocaust just didn’t effect the Jews it affected others and future generations. There are many lessons that we can learn from the Holocaust and how we can stop them from happening again. Some of these lessons are to be able to prevent these events, protect them in case they occur and to remember the event.
Known as one of the most horrific events in history, World War II (WW2) caused tremendous adversity and suffering amongst the lives of people across the globe. However, what is most concerning about the war, was what happened behind closed doors, specifically within Germany. The Holocaust is still considered one the worst ethnic cleansing attacks in the world. Although there is an endless amount of research and hard evidence of the Holocaust occurring, certain groups of individuals strongly reject it. Known as “Holocaust Denial”, this conspiracy theory has always been personally intriguing due to several reasons and will be analyzed more thoroughly.
