The Silk Road was a major trading route that was established by the Han Dynasty in China. This pathway began in China and spread all the way to Europe. The Silk Road got its name, because most of the products that were being traded along the Silk Road were silk. Even though silk was the item that was being traded the most; people also traded other items such as sugar, porcelain, salt, spices, teas, and ideas about other cultures. Because this trip was so long and tiring, people only traded luxurious goods. Not only did people trade goods, they also traded cultures and education.
