Tupac Amaru Shakur was born on June 16, 1971. Named after an Inca Chief, Tupac Amaru means “Shining Serpent” referring to wisdom and courage and Shakur meaning “thankful to God”. Shakurs mother, Afeni Shakur, was a leading member of the Black Panthers, a radical wing of the civil rights movement, with support for hardcore ghettos as well as white patronage. When Tupac’s mother was pregnant with Tupac she was spending time in the Woman’s House of Detention in Greenwich Village for conspiring to bomb several public places in New York City. All growing up his family lived in homeless shelters and run down town houses. Many times his family could not even afford lighting in the house. The only fond member he ever told of his childhood

Their first encounter took place at a party held by a L.A. drug dealer; they conversated and partied together, and Tupac, already a successful recording artist, gifted Biggie with a bottle of Hennessey. Later, when making his way to club 662 with fellow Death Row Records (the music label Shakur was signed to) CEO, Marion Hugh “Suge” Knight Jr., Shakur fell victim to a drive-by shooting on September 7th, 1996 near midnight. He was shot a total of 4 times, expiring 7 days later due to internal bleeding. Some people believe that Shakur is still alive due to multiple aspects, the first being the suspicious elements of the aforementioned string of events. In the article, “Tupac Is Alive (and Probably Living In Cuba): A Conspiracy Explained”, author Jason Parham writes, “14 shots were fired, 4 of which hit Tupac. Knight, who is a considerably large man (around 6’4, 260 pounds) was not hit once.

The shooter to this day remains unidentified, but suspicions and accusations are still stirring in current time. Suge Knight claims to know who gunned Tupac down, repeatedly telling the media that it was his ex-wife and her husband trying to shoot Suge but missed and hit Tupac. None of this could be proven though, there are also rumors saying that a Las Vegas police officer was paid millions of dollars to keep quiet, and another conspiracy is that he is alive and well and living in Mexico. According to research and factual evidence all those accusations are false, and Tupac is deceased. After Tupac’s death his mother retreated to the family home in Stone mountain Georgia and had to go through a lot of paper work to establish herself as the administrator of all his belongings.

Later that year, Tupac and Suge Knight (the founder of Death Row Records) were driving to a party around 11:15 p.m., after watching a Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas. When they stopped their car at a red light waiting for it to change, a white Cadillac pulled up next to them. Fourteen shots were fired, six of them hitting Tupac, who was in the passenger’s seat. One shot punctured his lung. Tupac died six days later, at only 25 years old.

He was arrested in Los Angeles for carrying a concealed weapon, was implicated in the shooting deaths of two undercover policemen and was convicted of sexual assault. In November 1994, in a much publicized incident, Shakur was shot four times while entering a New York recording studio and robbed of $40, 000 in jewelry. The following month he was sentenced to prison for the sexual assault conviction. After spending eight months in jail, his case was appealed and head of Death Row Records, Suge Knight, bailed Tupac out of jail. This also brought about the opportunity to sign him with Death Row Records.

When Obama got to Hawaii, he enrolled at Punahou Academy where he excelled in basketball, and graduated with academic honors in 1979. As only 3 blacks in his school Barack Obama was continually dealing with discrimination.
