The horse (Equus ferus caballus)[2][3] is one of two extant subspecies of Equus ferus. It is an odd-toed ungulate mammal belonging to the taxonomic family Equidae. The horse has evolved over the past 45 to 55 million years from a small multi-toed creature, Eohippus, into the large, single-toed animal of today. Humans began to domesticate horses around 4000 BC, and their domestication is believed to have been widespread by 3000 BC. Horses in the subspecies caballus are domesticated, although some domesticated populations live in the wild as feral horses. These feral populations are not true wild horses, as this term is used to describe horses that have never been domesticated, such as the endangered Przewalski's horse, a separate subspecies, and the only remaining true wild horse. There is an extensive, specialized vocabulary used to describe equine-related concepts, covering everything from anatomy to life stages, size, colors, markings, breeds, locomotion, and behavior.

If one looks around the world, they would see an over population of horses, this has been a reoccurring issue for a couple years now. There are a lot of reasons why people may not want a horse anymore; it may be old, hurt or even crazy. There are many ways of fixing this problem throughout the equine world, one has their breeders, horse dealers, trainers and more that all want to solve this problem.

The benefits are not only felt by horse owners in short supply of money; recently in Europe, the supply of meat from traditional sources, such as cattle, sheep and pigs has dwindled due to epidemics in the herds, such as bovine spongiform encephalopathy  or "mad cow" disease, as well as hoof and mouth disease.

Wild horses of Asstatuge live in Maryland. Asstatuge is an Island so the horses are shown in water. The horses on Asstatug Island survive from each other. Asstatuge's horses are herds of horses so they do not have an owner. That's why they are called wild horses because there don't have an owner.

Horses affect the world by carrying the heavy loads of the Native Americans and carrying lame or sick people, helping mail cross the country or kingdoms, and helping the Native Americans and Pioneers hunt. Wild horses were brought to the US by Spanish explorers and because they had no natural predators their population expanded at an exponential amount. Roundups used to be done by men on horseback, but now they are done with helicopters, men on horseback, and trucks. Roundups now happen every few months and they have attracted the attention of news crews and many other people who are against the wild horse

Horses are expensive animals to have around and knowing exactly how expensive before you rush out and buy one is imperative. Usually the cheaper part of getting a horse is the actual purchase price. Horses can cost anywhere between a few hundred to thousands of pounds depending on the type and breed of the horse, the age, who is selling the horse and why, how much training he's had and how experienced he is.

Horses are incredible creatures that have shaped history around the globe. There are over 150 different breeds of horses that have countless skills. Between their extraordinary intelligence and obedience, horses have worked at the mercy of humans for many different reasons.
