Although tensions already excited between countries it wasn't until the assassination that Austria-Hungary would state an ultimatum that’s purpose was to provoke war with Serbia. After his murder, Austria-Hungary demanded that Serbia “undertakes of renounce from now onwards the attitude of protest and opposition which she has adopted with regard to the annexation since last autumn” (Austrian Ultimatum to Serbia). Austria accused the entire Serbian government for the actions of the Black Hand, although the followers only represented a small amount of the Serbian population. This led to Austria-Hungary to take Serbia by force. Austria-Hungary had underestimated Serbia’s alliance with Russia influencing the involvement of the rest of Europe in the war.
World War I was mainly influenced by the alliances of European countries. Europe was divided into two different alliances, the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente Alliance. Once Russia became involved France had to obey their treaty and also joint the fight. Italy, who broke their Alliance with Germany and Austria-Hungary sided with the Russians and French. In the beginning Italy used Article Four of the Triple Alliance to stay neutral, but later sided with the allies. Article Four
The unconditional support from alliances can be blamed to cause World War I. The nature of the alliances is laid out in the alliance document. The alliances stipulated assistance and contribution of the signing parties in the event of conflict. It can extend from money or logistic sponsorship, similar to the supply of materials or weapons, to military activation and a statement about war. Partnerships might likewise contain currency components, for example, trade agreements, investment or loans. It is best known to cause World War I. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, European nations formed, abolished, or restructured their own alliances. By 1914, the Great Powers of Europe split into two opposing alliance blocs. For quite a long time Europe had been a mixture of ethnic and regional competitions, political interests, contending desires, military dangers, suspicions and disorder. France and England were antiquated foes whose competition ejected into open fighting a few times between the fourteenth and mid nineteenth hundreds of years.

World War I left a mark on history as we know it, what could have possibly led to that war?, What were the underlying causes of World War I?. The major causes of “The Great War” or WWI consist of four long-term causes and one short-term cause. The common acronym that’s used for the four long-term causes to help students remember the causes of WWI is M.A.I.N; the acronym stands for Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism, and the short-term cause The Assassination of the ArchDuke Franz Ferdinand at Sarajevo on the 28th of June 1914. To put all of this in a simpler way the five major causes of WWI was Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, Nationalism, and the assassination of the ArchDuke Franz Ferdinand. Each of topics played a significant role in the reasons why WWI would begin.
World War I was started by alliances with militarism and imperialism as aiding factors. Although, there are many more possible things that could have kept the war between Serbia and Austria-Hungary alliances was most likely the main reason why the war became widespread. This is not to say that having allies is a bad thing, but this goes to show how quickly things can get out of hand when blood is
The first cause of World War One were alliances, the actual agreement between two nations; meaning work together. To start off, the United Kingdom, Russia, and France were apart of the Allies alliance. Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire were members of the Central Powers alliance. Some countries chose to
World War 1 had many sparks to it. For instance, Great Britain, France, and Russia were members of the Triple Entente, on the other hand, Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary were members of the triple alliance (Doc 2). Each one had its own alliance system. Militarism was one cause to

The war lasted about 4 years and involved two alliances, the Triple alliance and the Triple Entente. World War I was harsh but what was the main cause of the war? The main cause for World War I was militarism.
There were several reasons why the United States gave up the policy of neutrality to enter the World War 1. One of the primary reasons had to do with threats due to the offensive tactics from the Germans.
World War I is known as one of the deadliest wars in human history. In World War I, over 65 million men were mobilized to fight. 57% of those men died during the war. The war lasted from 1914 to 1918. World War I involved all the wars greatest powers. There are many causes that caused, World War I to occur and they fit in two categories.
There were two major alliances in the first world war. The triple entente and the triple alliance. The triple entente consisted of France, Russia, and Great Britain while Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy made up the triple alliance. Alliances were created in order to help countries feel more secure, “To counter this uncomfortable situation, Bismarck created an alliance with Austria-Hungary and Italy.” By having so many countries teamed up with one another, it caused catastrophic consequences.
Not only that, but with the arms race that was happening, a lot of countries began to feel threatened by the increasing powers of other nations. For example, Germany quickly trying to gain an able navy, which threatened Great Britain, and not only that but because of this arm race, alliances such as the Triple Alliance that had threatened France. There were also a lot more causes that also contributed to World War 1, but amongst them all, the one that was probably the most important was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The reason as to why it was— and is — the most important cause to World War I was how much of a propulsion it had on the European countries to cause World War I in the first place. To start off, the assassination of the Archduke was by a member of a group called “The Black Hand” who were Serbian nationalists. During that time Russia had supported these Serbian Nationalists, and Austria-Hungary deeply hated them. This assassination thus causes an ultimatum from Austria-Hungary to Serbia (which then gets rejected), to which Austria-Hungary responded back with a declaration of war against Serbia. Russia then tells Serbia that they’ll protect Serbia (since they support them) and Germany states that they’ll back Austria-Hungary if Russia were to intervene, which they do. Now since the Italy (later replaced by the Ottoman Empire) is
World War 1 was fought from 1914 through 1918 and World War 2 was fought from 1939 to 1945. In world war 1 the world split into two groups, the allies and the central powers. Germany, Austria-Hungary, Turkey, and Bulgaria were a part of the central powers. France, Britain, Russia, Italy, Japan, and the U.S. were a part of the allies. In world war 2 the opposing groups were now the axis powers and allies. The Axis powers were Germany, Italy and Japan. The allies were France, Britain, the U.S, the Soviet Union and China. World war 2 was extremely mortifying due to the mass genocide the Nazis committed against the Jewish.
“They fought together as brothers¬in¬arms. They died together and now they sleep side by side. To them we have a solemn obligation” (Admiral Chester A. Nimitz). The Great War also known as World War 1 began in 1914 and ended in 1918. There were many causes leading up to this war. Some of the causes were: militarism which made sure that there was an army/navy prepared for war. Alliances allowed countries to work together as one. Imperialism was a way that countries seeked to dominate others. Nationalism was a belief that one remained loyal to their country. On June 28th, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were assassinated. The same day Austria¬Hungary. Shortly after, other countries became a part of the war because there were countries that were in alliance with those who started the war. The main underlying causes of World War 1 were Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism.

According to the World of information imperialism is the policy which is expanding the country’s power and acquiring new land or countries by force. Militarism is when a country wants to preserve the strongest and most defensive military strength. Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Ottoman Empire where central powers of WW1 but the allied powers where France, England, Russia, and the United States. Many of these countries joined World War 1 because of Alliances, where they had a treaty with that country or countries that in a challenging times they would be there to help in any way possible even if it meant they are set in the middle of a world warfare.

The assassination was the last straw for Austria-Hungary; they declared war on Serbia, on July 28, 1914. This declaration of war threw peaceful Europe into a country of chaos. Although many factors and people led to World War 1, four main reasons were militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism.
World War I was the most violent, deadly, and costly war of its time. World War I was a result of multiple causation; militarism, alliances, nationalism, imperialism, and the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand. All the causes of World War I come to light as the European powers began to industrialize. As industrialization began, these nations would go to other countries to get the resources they needed. This allowed imperialism to occur. Imperialism is when a strong nation tries to dominate a weaker nation, economically, socially, or politically. These weaker nations couldn’t fight back because they were not industrialized. However, the race for resources led to a competition between the European powers. France and Germany competed
