World War I and World War II or two were both very important wars. World War I wasn't as intense as World War II. World War I was based around ethnicity and nationalism. Those were the main reasons why World War I had started. Now World War II began because of fascism and ideologies. World War I began July 28, 1914 and lasted until November 11, 1918. The main trigger of World War I was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. He was the heir to the throne of Austro-Hungarian Empire. The archduke and his wife came to visit the state of Bosnia, which was a Austrian Providence. But during their visit shots were fired. And eventually after that happened the archduke and his wife died. With this all happening it did demolished …show more content…
This war was more brutal than World War I. On September 1, 1939 Hitler had sent his armies into Poland. A few days after Hitler sent his armies into Poland, Great Britain and France declared war on Germany. In which this happening World War II had began. The Germans used airplanes to bomb and machine gunned targets in Poland. And later on the war expanded along German borders from Belgium and Switzerland. During World War I it was the allies against the central powers. But during World War II it was allies against axis. But in the end the allies won both wars. In World War I more than 9 million combatants and 7 million civilians died as a result of this war. More people were injured and killed in World War II than in World War I. Over 60 million people were killed during World War II, and 38 to 55 million were killed from war related diseases and famine. Which was way more casualties than World War I. Between both wars there were many methods of warfare. World War I mainly use technological weapons of warfare. They use things such as poison gases, artillery, tanks, Air warfare, and many more methods of weaponry. During World War II they use similar things to World War I, but they had more newer tactics. In World War II they used warfare such as chemical, submarine, and trench
As for the World War II, it began in 1939 till 1945. This war went on for 6 years. The war began in Europe after the attack in Poland, Germany. World War II started because Hitler began to take over Europe and Germany. Adolf Hitler and his partnership with Italy and Japan opposed the Soviet Union. The conflict during World War I was between the Axis powers and the Allied powers. The war ended after Japan had finally surrendered in 1945. Over 60 million people
World War I was often referred to as "The Great War". It began in 1914 and ended in 1918. America witnessed much devastation in this time period. In these four years alone nearly 9 million people died and millions more were maimed, crippled, grief stricken, or psychologically scarred, World War I is considered by many historians, the first man-made catastrophe of the twentieth century. There are many things that contributed to the war these causes were militarism, alliances, imperialism, and na's attempt to normalcy to be a challenge.
Warfare methods had been the altered in regards of weaponry. During World War I, soldiers would fight from trenches and would use artillery, machine guns, early airplanes, and poisonous gas . There was little mobility during that time period. On the contrary, World War II fought using nuclear power and missiles . During this time period, many special operations were put into affect. An example of a special operation would be Operation Foxley, where the British military planned to assassinate Adolf Hitler (which was not really put into affect). In addition, submarines and tanks were also more heavily used and secret communication, or “code,” became more difficult to figure out, which benefitted them so that others would not understand their plan of attack, their location, etc. Radios were invented which were heavily used during WWII, while there were only landline phones in WWI .
I believe that World War II was a continuation of World War I because of some not resolved issues. Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles by expanding the military and invading Poland. One of the events that led to the beginning of World War 1 was: Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism; which stands for MAIN. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia but they then joined up with Russia. After, Germany declared war on Russia which caused the war to expand. World War I ended in 1918 when Germany surrendered. It also had a great impact on European countries after it ended.
Firstly, World War 1 and World War 2 are similar because they both started because of an imbalance in power. Many nations were involved but they all had that one factor in common.
World War II was the most destructive and deadliest war in history. There were about eleven million people killed just in the holocaust. World War II started on September 1st, 1939 after Germany invaded Poland. Three days later Britain and France declared war on Germany, at the time the U.S. was neutral. Through 1941, germany controlled most of Europe and was a very big threat.
World War I and World War II was the result of years of strife between nations and catalyzed much of the change during the 20th century. The United States was not immune to any of these changes, particularly those that affected the nation during wartime. Despite the notion of the entire nation gathering under one banner to defeat the Germans in both wars the country was not united; people were interned for the potential threat they may cause in the future and other citizens were not even treated as citizens. World War I and World War II did not unite the nation rather during wartime it caused more divisions among citizens.
World War II began in 1939 when the German armies decided to invade parts of Europe, therefore causing Europeans to retaliate against the Germans (World War 1). World War II began because those countries which were defeated in World War I
World war I and World War II was two world wars that completely devastated Europe. Many deaths and sacrifices were made throughout and these two events are no doubt one of the most important events in world history. Many books were written about these two wars, detailing the great horrors and brutal truths of life out on the battlefield.
During World War I, Allies fought against the Central powers (Stone, 2008). The Allies included Britain, France, Russia, Italy, and the United State, and the Central powers included Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria (World War I). In the words of Noman Stone, a historian and author, ““World War” is something of a misnomer because this was overwhelmingly a European war,” (Stone, 2008). Only after America joined in the war did the war officially become a world war. The number of Allied casualties reached a height of over 375,000, and the Central losses reaching about 1.5 million casualties.
World War I began in 1914 and ended 5 years later in 1919. World War II began decades later in 1939 and ended 6 years later in 1945. World War I began when nationalism rose. When nationalism was on the rise they thought it would increase loyalty in the country. Instead of loyalty, people began to want more power. Archduke Ferdinand was the leader of Hungary. He was assassinated by a Serbian terrorist and this later lead to World War I. World War II began because they fought to defeat complete control by one person. Most of Europe had then been taken over by Nazi’s and Adolf Hitler. The war ultimately began when Germany invaded Poland.
Both wars caused great shifts in this world and molded it to be where it is now. WWI and WWII both had many of the same post-war effects and caused great changes. They shared the display of America’s power, brought us and England and France closer together, Boosted and Destroyed economies and much more. They both had differences too such as, WWI destroying Germany’s economy instead of splitting it up into two different countries. And WWII having the effect of new nuclear power, and the effects on the Pacific as well as Europe. Many differences and similarities were shown in these two major wars and brought us here.
World War I set an example for future wars. WWI was a collection of problems that exploded. Such as imperialism, militarism, and alliances. Years after WWI started the United states enter. WWI almost every major countries was involved.
World War 1 started because of the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary by a Serbian nationalist in 1914. Which Austria-Hungary blamed Serbia. Many death have broke out on the battlefield, most of it were caused by a flu that broke out. WWI didn’t cause the flu but close troop quarters and massive troop movements hastened the pandemic transmission across Europe and around the world. Another thing that started during ww1 was Schenk v United States who got arrested for speaking his mind against the draft.
WORLD WAR ONE There has always been wars, and there will always be wars. Most wars leave a huge impact on the history of that nation, especialy if it involves more than one. In 1914, long-standing rivalries among European nations exploded into war. World War one, as it is now called, cost millions of lives. Such a war, has left a deep intentaion on the American history.
