I can hear the children making a ruckus in the backyard, and the wind whistling through the trees. On this hot, summer, Sunday afternoon and John Jr. and Loretta are playing with all of their toys, while their father sits on the porch and enjoys his snuff. My eyes peer across the room to see him, my husband, through the windows as I walk to take my seat next to him on the porch where I will finish today’s stitching. Loretta is turning six next month, so I am making her a cross stitch pattern on a special blanket John Thomas bought her last week when he was in the city. The surprise must be well reserved, so I hide it when she comes near. “Mama!” calls John Jr. “When’s Granmama comin’? I’m already gettin’ hungry.”
“Rydie, turn them rowdy mp3 speakers off and make your way into the kitchen!”, shouted her mother from below. Annoyed, she finally turned her speakers off and with a great sigh, she headed down the stairs and into the kitchen. “Coming”, she replied.
”Why is the box of rat possin opened” my mom said.”I was playing with the lizards in their I replied .Did you wash your hands before you ate? she questioned “Oops”. My moms face turned as blue as a blueberry.”Are you kidding me.
“What’s that?” my mom asks, trying to listen closer. In broken English, the lady repeats her answer, attempting to improve clarity by using hand signals; she explains we must take a right when we reach a certain intersection. After thanking her, we begin walking in the darkness
Soon, after I got dressed we left the hospital. I still did not know that meaning of the disease I had. I just knew it caused my mother cry, I did not wanna leave her like how my father did. I did not want her to be that upset or alone again. I just wanted her happy and I wanted her to stop crying and her smile even though her smile did not look the same. It did not feel warm like the sun on a hot summer day. I still wanted her to smile, warm up and brighten up my little world.
“I`m so sorry for being so mean and sarcastic to you,” I said“oh, it's alright Peter,” my mother replied. I was now on cloud nine so I said “I love you!!” after that I. disappeared into the ecstasy of a huge mother hug in front of the lustrous titanium posts in which the cart had sat
Screech! As she pulled into the driveway for the second time that day, she heard a gut wrenching sound like nails on a chalkboard, screams.. She walked in the daycare to see her son clinging to the floor while the children and workers bundled around him. “ Mrs.Swampie please control your son he is out hand right now!” In frustration, Mrs.Swampie yanked Jonah’s ear, dragged him to the car, and raced him to his grandma’s home so she could deal with him. Jonah glanced outside the window and saw grandma’s house. Jonah BURST into excitement and unfastened his seatbelt, opened the car door, and beamed towards grandma’s front door. DING DONG. “Who is it ?” “Gwammy it’s me
Two different ideas of a certain thing is kind of peculiar isn't it? The poem “Mothers” shows just that. In the poem the mom is described in two different ways, one being mother and the other being mommy, they were shown to be very different. There were a few ways mother was different than mommy.
I do not think your actions are excessive. I think it seem appropriate regarding the situation of the mother. The mother should know her actions have consequences. In this case, it means that she could go to prison and lose custody of her child due to probation violations. In my opinion, an excessive action would to send the mother to prison for one year. Nevertheless, many of us would show compassion toward the mother and especially for the daughter. The well-being of the daughter should be the priority. The mother may lead the daughter down the same path as her with continuation or association of drugs. The mother needs to demonstrate that she done with drugs and distance herself from people who used drug to the probation officer to remove
I asked Addie to come over to the binder that has everyone's name in it, photo of them, family photo and things about themselves. I asked Addie to show me her page and tell me about her family “ Addie can you tell me about your family?” She pointed at a picture of her and said “ the is a picture of me.” I then asked her “its it a school photo?” She shook her head and said “yes.” I asked her “who is in the picture below?” she started to say “its alien, Elijah, Gabe and me.” She pointed to each person as she said their names. I asked her what about mom and dad in the picture?” She said “ no, you cant see them.”
Her mom emerged from the outside to the warm inside. They both laid down on the shaggy carpet this time not in denial, but in relief. That stared at the dusty ceiling fan for a while, when Susan’s mom asked “Can you babysit tomorrow?” Susan replied in a sarcastic tone “I will if you pay me.” They both tilted their heads at each other, and Susan’s mom rolled her eyes. “Not a
Beep! Beep! Beep! The obnoxious noise of the alarm system awoke Edith Jacinth from her slumber. “Ugh, school!” she pondered. She lazily swung her arm to get a grasp on her advanced, expensive iPhone. Suddenly, Edith heard something. zzzZZZ! Puzzled, she rotated only to witness her sister, Maggie, snoring peacefully in an unconscious state. Edith grinned, placing a slight kiss on Maggie’s cheek. She cautiously stood up and waltzed toward her window. The weather was foggy, damp, and misty. Edith observed a raindrop slide down the glass display. An unexpected screech traveled through her ears. Confused as to what was going on, she soon realized it was another argument between her parents. Silent as dreaming trees, she scurried to her decorated music box. Inside was her most prized possession, her poetry journal.
It’s six o’clock in the morning when my mother wakes me up. She combs through my tangled hair, helps me with my Velcro tennis shoes, grabs her backpack and we head out the door. We’re headed to her Renaissance art class where we sit in the front row. She takes out my coloring book and some crayons and I get to work while a woman with a booming voice clicks through a PowerPoint.
Organism used the sense of self to distinguish itself from the immediate external environment (Neisser, 1988). The idea of ‘extended self’ suggested that the self was not limited to the body but also incorporate with self-relevant information (Kim & Johnson 2012). The self-object associations was developed as far back as early childhood, which showed that ownership was important in cognition (Cunningham, Turk, Macdonald, & Macrae, 2008). Three research have investigated the association between ownership and cognition.
“Mommy! Mommy!” I had yelled to my mother. “Can we go back to dee room?”
