Because in the data above I concluded that Zn is the most reactive then Fe and the finally Ni I know that Zinc will displace Iron and Iron will displace Ni but Ni will not displace Iron. Because of this if we place one piece of each metal in the solution of Iron(II) nitrate which ever one reacts is the Zinc because the Zinc will be displacing the Iron but since the Ni cant displace Iron no reaction will occur when it is placed into the Iron nitrate.
3. Find the number of atoms of each of the substances involved in the reaction.
11. Write the balanced chemical reaction of zinc with HCl (same as problem 5). Is the product of this reaction soluble in aqueous solution?
No vigorous reaction occurred; rather, the zinc sample disintegrated slowly and turned red in color.
6. Fe (NO3)3, Ferric nitrate, is much more active than ferrous. It could be identified by its reddish color and when mixed with thiocyanate, it reveals a “bloody” red color.
11. Write the balanced chemical reaction of zinc with HCl (same as problem 5). Is the product of
In some instances lead reacted very similarly with the alkaline earth metal but very different in the other reactions such as with iodide. This is due to lead’s position on the periodic table as compared to those of the alkaline earth metals. The position on the periodic table correlates to an element’s atomic radius, ionization energy, and electron affinity. All of these properties affect an element’s chemical properties such as solubility. A systematic error occurred during my experiment when I observed a reaction between barium and iodide. There should have been no reaction. This error is probably the result of using a test tube that was not cleaned properly prior to combining Ba(NO3)2 with NaI. This experiment reinforced the concepts introduced in Chapter 8 of our textbook.
Hypothesis: Reaction 3 will create the highest exothermic reaction in the test tube this is because the chemicals are highly flammable the means they are high in exothermic relations. If we use 4 grams of zinc powder the chemical retain with the copper sulphate solution will create the highest temperature We changed the
The first reaction involves pyrite rock reacting with oxygen (air) and water to produce dissolved ferrous iron, sulfate, and acidity. The second reaction oxidizes the dissolved ferrous iron in acidic conditions and produces ferric iron and water. The third reaction involves the hydrolysis of the ferric iron to form ferric hydroxide and more acid. The ferric hydroxide is the orangey-red colored solid you see in the water (Juniata College).
Experimental approach: In the first reaction, copper metal turnings oxidize when put in contact with nitric acid and become copper nitrate.
The crowd goes wild, you did it will go iron will. Dog sled racing is dangerous and harsh but it's very good bonding with animals because you spend twelve days with 16 dogs. Iron Will, the movie was about a young boy named Will Stoneman who faces harsh, unforgiving, and it was life or death out there. He faced these challenges because he wanted to win 10,000 dollars for his college education. Iron Will was willful because he was determined, brave, and confident.
The answer to the question of “What is the empirical formula of this substance containing zinc and chlorine?” Simply put, the answer is ZnCl2. This is what the empirical formula is because when the mass of each substance is converted into number of atoms, the ratio of Zinc to Chlorine is about 2:1 for almost every trial conducted. See Figure 1. Equations 1 and 2 demonstrate how the conversions were performed and how moles/ molecular weights of each substance were incorporated in the calculations.
Here's a puzzler! If the outer core is clearly a liquid iron-nickel mixture, then shouldn't the inner core of the earth be liquid, too? The inner core should be hotter, and therefore it should be a liquid, too, right?
Normally metals are supplied from the daily nutrients and they are not stored in the body, so its level is supposed to be regulated by a specific system to prevent it from increasing or decreasing in the brain and this system is known as metal homeostasis system which is responsible for regulation the level of the metal in the body with the help of a specific kind of transporters8.
As figure 1 shown, ammonium sulphate have different concentrations from 0.1mol in 200ml water to 0.4mol. When concentration is increasing, the average change is from 0.26g-0.1g. Also Ammonium Dihydrogen Phosphate have the same inverse relationship that when the concentration is increasing, the weight of change decreases from 0.5-0.06g as shown in figure…. In addition, the higher the concentration, the more effective the flame retardant is. Both ammonium sulphate and ammonium dihydrogen phosphate are Inorganic salts. Such as K2CO3 or MgCl2 that are inorganic salts can suppress flaming combustion of cotton textile. As a flame retardant, it lowers the combustion temperature of the material, decreases maximum weight loss rates, and
Metals have been used by people for many thousands of years. Gold and silver, found as native metal, were used both as jewellery and as a status symbol - nothing new there. These metals were known in the Stone Age, but gold and silver are too soft to be used as tools.
