I walked up the tenth set of stairs and looked up at the next forty coming. Still dripping of water from cave tubing. I told my dad, “ The only reason I am doing this is for your birthday.” We sat on wood logs in the forest watching the instructor teach us how to zip line. I was about ten years old when I went zip lining in Mexico for my dad’s birthday. We walked up the flights of stairs when monkeys crawled around us looking for food. When we made it to the top we put on our harnesses and took our last bit of advise from the workers. The man said he had worked there for 25 years and has only seen one person fall. I thought that I was going to be the second. He hooked me on the line as I told him to let me off. With one big push he threw me
We were at Hawaii for a week, on Friday we went zip lining. We got there, but no one was there except for the workers, we got there early. My parents started to chat with the workers and a couple minutes later everyone came and we all put our gear and helmets on.
Ziplines are something that most people find enjoyable. But, what most people don't think about all the safety procedures that are taken to make sure that it doesn’t endanger the living things on and around it. Larry Gerstner is the man who built the zipline at The Wilds Conservation Center. He designed it so that the wild life would be protected as well as the people.
Moreover we went to ziplines in the moutains of cancun. The ziplines took about 2 hours to get to because we had to go all the way up a mountain. We got to the ziplines and got our helmets
One summer day in July , Me and my friend Carol went to an amusement park called Cedar Point . Cedar Point is located in Sandusky , Ohio and two and a half hours away . My mom and me wanted to go on a ride called the Maverick . The Maverick is Cedar Point’s steepest roller coaster and its speed is 70 miles per hour . The Maverick also has a 95 degree drop ! Then we went in line and waited for about an hour and a half . It was about eleven o'clock when we got close to the front of the line . When we finally got to the roller coaster I regretted going on because it was very dark and I couldn't see where the drop was and I don’t like steep roller coasters . Because of that me and Carol where panicking the whole way up . As soon as we got to the
We were waiting in line, I was so scared. Dad said, “Go on the ride it will be fun.” Finally it was our turn when we got on the ride we started going up.¨Are you ready?¨”Dad said. I was not feeling great about doing this. When we hit the top we went straight down everyone was screaming. I was so scared but relieved I did it. The rest of the ride
It was around 4:30 5:00pm on a Saturday when my Dad, Sister Ahlancya, Cousin Mycal, Best friend Gracie, and I were getting in the car after the dentist to go to the Ohio State Fair. When we got there we had to walk over to where the rides were because of where we parked. “Whoosh”, as the rides went past. After getting are wrist bands we all except my Dad jumped into the line of our favorite rides. Gracie and I even rode or two that Ahlancya and Mycal recommended for us to ride, they were so fun!!! In till they recommended us to ride this rollercoaster that goes upside down and hangs you there for about 15 seconds mind me Gracie and I hated those rides
We finally docked to our first destination, Catalina Island. Stepping on the island was so surreal, the air was so fresh, the island scenery covered in green, and the houses were unbelievably beautiful. A group of decided we wanted to go parasailing so we all chipped in and got tickets to go. Four of us, girls, and other passengers got on this speed boat and sped off far enough to catch good air for the parachute. A couple of people were ahead of us so we got to see what we were going to expect and hear the people's opinion on how it went when it was finally our turn to go up. Gisselle, my roommate, paired up to go together and we were very anxious. We both got geared up and the boat started going to get some wind. We got shot off the boat,
My stomach twisted and scrunched up into knots after gazing up at the structure. The dreaded day had finally come: the day that I would conquer the high ropes course at summer camp. As a fourteen-year old girl who was frightened by heights of any kind, strapping on a harness and climbing up a bunch of shaky poles and shivering wires was definitely the last thing I wanted to do. Nonetheless, peer pressure got the best of me, so in order to satisfy my friends and to avoid being teased, I made the decision that I would climb up the ropes course no matter how much the voice in my head screamed at me to stop.
This spring break I went to the Poconos in Pennsylvania, I did a lot of fun stuff, but what excited me the most was skiing, skiing was the most difficult thing I have done in a long time, we went to the Shawnee ski resort, and over there we rented out some skiing gear and went skiing, the first time I tried moving I fell right after, once I figured out how to move, I went up the beginners mountain and threw myself down for the first time, I was very scared when I first skiied down the beginners mountain, I did not fall, after a couple of times of skiing down I thought I was ready for the experts course. After I decided I was ready, I went to the chairlift, and the lift escalated real quick before I knew it I was about 50 feet above the ground
Our design is a large guitar neck that is (50ft x 35ft x 0.1667ft (2in)) that’s hanging 4 feet off the ceiling from the 3rd floor. The guitar is angled so that the guitar is 5 feet lower at the end than where it started (the guitar goes down 1ft every 10 feet of length). There are 28 different cables attached to the guitar and the guitar is at a slant where the guitar passes the 3rd floor into the 2nd floor so the zipline can gain speed. There are 3 guitar strings on the guitar that serve as the 3 ziplines. The ziplines are 34 feet long and at the end you will fall in a big foam pit (35ft x 25ft x 12ft) to make the landing safe. The guitar is hollow inside and very thin (only 2in thick in real life) and it will support up to 360lb (large safety factor included) per zipline.
one day we were going to this place called six flags. It was a sunny day that day we left from our house about 5:00 that morning but we were staying there for the weekend at my friends grandparents house in Atlanta. My mom and my two brothers were with us driving and my friend his hole family was following us when we went down their. And we all couldn't wait to get down their but i’m sometimes nervous to go down big rollercoasters but I didn't know that they were going to be that big.
One warm summer morning my sister, dad, and I were sitting and watching T.V. and my best friend’s dad called and invited us over for the weekend. He said
I wanted to take that boat out and go tubing for the first time in my life. I was so excited that I even offered to blow up the tube by myself with nothing but my lungs, not knowing we had an air pump. Finally, after what felt like hours of begging like the annoying twelve year old I was, my dad said it was time to go. My sisters and I got our life jackets and wet shirts on, while my baby brother and step mom got on the boat, and my dad sat in the driver’s seat. My sisters and I were on the back on the tube, trying to find the best way to position our arms so we didn’t fall off. My dad turned the key to the boat and suddenly, my excitement turned to sheer panic. What happens if I fall off? What if my sisters fall off? What if there was a lake monster or a really big fish in the water? From that moment on, I was determined to stay on, so I held on to the handles for dear
As my upper body shifted to the right, everything from my waist and below stayed true to the course, including the ski poles. I ran over the handle of my ski pole, with my stomach. The pole was pushed up into my lower abdomen, propelling me off of the slope entirely, I was airborne. I landed on my back, completely out breath, and dazed to the point I had no recollection of where I was. The next moment was particularly scary for me, all I can recall was the ringing of a whistle in my ear, and the red lights flashing from the ski patrols snowmobiles. Unsure of any injuries, the ski patrol had braced my back and neck, strapped me to a board, and began to tow me down the mountain.
Then, my family and I went to Hershey Park as a birthday gift for me. At the entrance, I saw an enormous light blue and bright yellow water slide that almost looked like half of a tornado. It was a really hot day, the temperature was almost 87 degrees. We walked over to the water section, and I was amazed how big it was, It was like a pool with water slides for gods. My brother told me right away, “We must go on that slide,” and that was the moment I knew I would go on that gigantic water slide, I was relieved because I desperately needed a something to refresh myself, and I was scared. When I was waiting in-line I went up so many stairs, which took a while. Finally, I was where the slide started, My brother’s back was facing the slide and I was facing the slide on the tube. “Shahan, are you ready? ” My brother asked me,
