70 MPa.
3) An eye bolt carries a tensile load of 20 kN. Find the size of the bolt, if the
tensile stress is not to exceed 100 MPa.
4) Find the size of 14 bolts required for a C.I. steam engine cylinder head. The
diameter of the cylinder is 400 mm and the steam pressure is 0.12 N/mm.
Take the permissible tensile stress as 35 MPa.
