A ferris wheel is 35 meters in diameter and boarded at ground level. The wheel makes one full rotation every 5 minutes, and at time t=0 you are at the 3 o'clock position and ascending. Let f(t) denote your height (in meters) above ground at  minutes. Find a formula for f(t).

check_circleExpert Solution
Step 1

Since the diameter of ferris wheel = 35meter

So, the radius of the wheel is = 35/2 = 17.5 meter so the midline is y = k =17.5 meter

the maximum height is 17.5 meters, so the amplitude is A = 17.5

The period is 5 minutes, so the constant B = 2π/5.

At t = 0, the 3 o’clock position would be halfway up the ferris wheel. W...
