After graduating from University, Jerry and Samantha decide to go into business for themselves. They both love cooking, so they opened a mobile food truck. The new business is called SweetHand™ Almost immediately, their business takes off and there are long lines throughout the day and into the night. Five years have passed, and SweetHand™ has grown to over 100 locations spread across the Caribbean. For the most part, these locations operate independently. This results in coordination problems and inefficient supply procurement. As a remedy, the IT manager has proposed linking all locations in the telecommunications network. Question: What implementation methodologies can SweetHand use as it begins to roll out its network. Which do you think is best for the company?

Expert Solution
Solution

In this scenario, there is 100 locations, which are operate independently. So first implementation methodology is that to implement LAN network in each location .

LAN network: LAN is a computer network which spans a single room, building or group of building. One LAN can be connected to other LANs over any distance via telephone lines and radio waves. most commonly PC's are use ethernet.

  • Media used:  Twisted-pair wire, coaxial cables, or fiber optic cables are used to connect devices. Some networks do  communicating via radio waves.
  • Topology: It is the way of arrangement of nodes in the communication network. Devices can be connected in star or ring topology.
  • Protocol: Rules for data transmission. Ethernet protocol is the most popular and nearly every single business out there uses this protocol. Ethernet is a widely implemented option because it is simple and flexible
  • Architecture: The network follows which architecture, includes peer to peer or client server architecture. Here we can implement client server architecture.
  • Instead of using wired medium here we can use wireless LAN also.
