Question
Bring out the differences between the heart of shark and that of frog?
Expert Solution
Step 1
The heart of a shark has two chambers: an atrium or auricle and a ventricle. Deoxygenated blood from the body arrives in the atrium and then the ventricle where it gets pumped to all over the body via gills. Blood is pumped from the heart through the capillary beds of gills as well as of tissues. The rate of flow of blood decreases when it enters the capillary beds of gills. It needs skeletal muscular action to move back to the heart after it reaches the tissues. And because of this shark is dependent upon the physical movement for blood to be recirculated back to the heart.
