Expert Solution
Introduction

The lysogenic cycle is one of two ways that a virus can reproduce within a host cell. It is a slow, passive method of replication in which the virus integrates its genetic material (DNA or RNA) into the genome of the host cell. The virus then remains in a latent state, allowing the host cell to continue functioning normally while the viral genetic material replicates along with the host cell's DNA.
