Materials:
a shoebox, extra cardboard, șcissors, tape, Bean plants, small cups full of soil
Procedure:
1. Plant four bean seeds in each of the soilcups. Make sure they're evenly spaced,
and plant them just a half inch under the soil.
2. Water the cups, and dump out any excess water (be careful not to tip the soil
and seeds out). Set aside.
3. Cut a large hole at one end of the shoebox. Hold the box up to the light and
be sure to tape up any other spaces where light shines through.
4. Cut two pieces of cardboard in the following sizes:
5. First make both pieces half the width of the shoebox.
6. Then make both pieces the same height of the shoebox.
7. Now divide the box in thirds and tape one cut cardboard piece on the left side
of the box at the one-third mark. Next, tape the other cardboard piece on the
right side of the box at the two-thirds mark.
8. Documents your observations.
The box should look like the box shown below.
