following: the prefrontal cortex, somatosensory area, the
RAS, Wernicke’s area, the basal nuclei, and the visual
association area.

Expert Solution
Step 1

The brain is the center of all thoughts, judgment, emotion, and memory. Every part of the brain is responsible for controlling different body functions for example temperature regulation, respiration rate, heart rate, intelligence, memory, balancing, language problem solving, and so on.

Step 2

Prefrontal cortex: Prefrontal cortex is the covering of the front part of the frontal lobe. The function of the prefrontal cortex involves personality expression, moderating social behavior, planning complex cognitive behavior, and decision making. The prefrontal cortex is associated to perform an executive function. Executive function means the ability to determine good or bad, same and different, expectation based on action, social control that suppresses the urges that are not socially acceptable.

Somatosensory area: Somatosensory area is a part of the forebrain. It is situated in the parietal lobe. Primary somatosensory area situated on the lateral surface and posterior part of paracentral gyra and secondary somatosensory area situated in the posterior part of the lateral fissure. The function of the somatosensory area is the perception of pressure, weight, shape, feeling of texture.it is responsible for the localization of sensation that is the sensation of pain, touch, temperature, tingling, and other sensations.

RAS (reticular activating system): It is a network of neurons that extends from the spinal cors up to the thalamus. It filters sensory stimuli and redirects them to the cerebral cortex. The function of RAS involves modulating the action of neurons that are involved in posture, pain, arousal, autonomic function, and involved in the movement.

Wernicke's area: Wernicke's area is located at the lateral sulcus left to the cerebral hemisphere. The Wernilw's are is important for language development. It is responsible for the comprehension of the speech.

Bassal Nuclei: Basal nuclei also known as basal ganglia are masses of grey matter in the forebrain. Basal ganglia are corpus striatum, substantia nigra, the subthalamic body of guys, and red nucleus. The function of basal nuclei is control of voluntary motor activity, muscle tone, reflex muscular activity, and role in arousal mechanism.

Visual association area: Visual association area is the part of the cerebral cortex that processes visual information. it is situated in the occipital lobe. The function of the visual associated area is to recognize, store visual memories, and storage. It is also associated with revisualization, special orientation, perception, visual recognition, and visual association.
