Muscle is a type of soft tissue found in the body that is specialized for contracting and relaxing in order to produce movement. There are three types of muscle in the body: skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, and cardiac muscle. Skeletal muscle is attached to bones and is responsible for voluntary movements, such as moving the arms and legs. Smooth muscle is found in the walls of internal organs and is responsible for involuntarily controlling the movement of substances through the body. Cardiac muscle is found in the heart and is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body.
