CSMA/CA and CSMA/CD explain the purpose each of these, for what type of network it is used. Explain advantages and disadvantages.

Expert Solution
Step 1

CSMA/CA : Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Avoidance.

It is using in wifi communication.

In this, no collisions will happen. Before transmitting data , hosts has to sense the channel whether it free or not.

This channel is accessed by many host.

It is IEEE 802.11 technology for wireless communication.

It is using for access control.

Acknowledgements for every transmitted packet.

Advantages:
There is no collisions.
Because of RTS/CTS mechanism, there is no unnecessary traffic in network.

Disadvantages:
More waiting time for channel.
