Question

When Using Interval Notation, how do you get to the answer? I studied this in Highschool a decade ago. Here is the problem

Find the domain for each of the following express your answer in interval notation.

a.) f(x)=(3x-2)/x

I sAID, the domain is {f(x)E R|except x=0}, I tried to use a number line ie,

________________Open circle_________________

-inf.____________0______________inf.

but then my interval notation understanding drops off and i am unsure if using

(-infinity,0)and(0,infinity) is correct or incorrect
