For a variety of reasons, third parties do not currently have much impact on Texas politics. What measures might be taken to level the playing field for third parties and improve their competitiveness in elections?
The success of third parties not just in Texas politics ,but in a national level ,is limited because of multitude of factors.One example is the highly controversial new Texas law on general ballot ,which requires high filling fees for candidates.
The Democratic and Republican parties can easily pay 5000 $ as a filling fees.But many third party candidates find it unfair as it hinders the participation of independent candidates.
